A typhoon is about to blow your home studio away, or better said, the reproduction of the Typhoon launched 14 years ago for the Yamaha TX16W sampler.
Here’s is what Sonic Charge is offering Mac and Windows users for the New Year: a full emulation of the Yamaha TX16W sampler software in VST and AU format.
Named Cyclone, the plug-in emulates all the circuits of the original gear, including the 68000 CPU, the proprietary circuits, the 12-bit memory and the non linear 400Hz DAC. You’ll then get in your DAW the same sound as the original.
Sonic Charge specifies that the plug-in only includes the demo sounds for the Typhoon 2000, so you will have to download more sounds yourself, but the editor has decided to open a thread on its forum where users can add links sound content webpages.
Cyclone is available as a free download from soniccharge.com.
All the Audiofanzine team wishes a Happy New Year 2014!
