- What characteristics have motivated your choice?
Oh that was long ago: the first prize in pregnant should take low road question.
- For what purpose?
Festive: the time it was to provide two rooms, it was split into 2x130 people wholesale.
- What amp / What configuration? ...
There were two stages:
-> An Evening with PA2600 in 4 SM115 (21h-5H)
-> A test in 4 SM115 2xEP2500 standing on Magic System - dance in Zouglou + 10db at 60Hz
SOUNDS
- The frequency curve is sufficiently neutral?
The box is too generous to low (my mistake): the sound is very round.
The default SM115: This hollow 250Hz irritates me! (31cm hollow my not) visible on the trace Beyma.
- The stereo image is good?
SM280ST in the config 4x4 image is very good! SM280ST even the very powerful despite the cut at 3kHz.
- The sound is clear and precise on the spectrum?
The sound is very clean on the PA2600's like almost the monitoring (the DJ told me that for him it sounds like the Mackie SRM450)
In PA2600 very clean but lacks bass power in reserve: the treble super clean.
In EP2500: the highs are so good, but I was not with my monitor amp (super sharp upstream of the amps sound systems), on the other hand in low thunder! I even overhang: only one of four speakers seems a little issue (noise of the grid E. Lemery dixit!)
No sound for the evening at an equalizer late enough it can be very good.
- The dynamics are respected? ...
The SM115N (oh I forgot: they are SM115N) are just the EP2500 4x500W of: it moves a lot, about +-6mm wholesale: a bit of overhang so.
I'm a little above dynamic but I have not been able to control the hair during testing and were pushed back only one chamber (the 4 would have been a little hell) there were over 30 meters between the source and the inputs of amplifiers: hard drive set especially if the speakers are off-axis!
OVERALL OPINION
- How long have you use it?
Unfortunately I did not used often, it has been 5 years that I own but have not been widely used: not many occasions and my car only accepts 31cm or 38cm but not 2 (not enough spaces ): 31cm by default are still more comfortable in terms of transport.
- What is so special that you like most and least?
The +: it goes down, clean the medium 38cm.
the -: it is still a little soft (arrgh the 250Hz Beyma: do something!), the 31cm are much more violent at this level.
- Have you tried many other models before buying it?
Heard:
Ardan-38cm / 200Wrms: no comment: BR punchy low amp max 175WRMS if the coil centering and smashes the membrane.
-PRO38S100: I love this speaker: What power! What fishing! and the more hardly hot! Unfortunately at the time in 2003 I believe it was no longer for sale: Xmax reduces ...
I like the RCF as well, and ElectroVoice DL15X: the DL15X it sounds great.
- How would you rate the quality / price?
For those who want some cheap low is honest, however, depending on what is desired, I would choose more of the RCF for the roundness, some models seem interesting at Monacor but hey!
Currently the best implementation of the SM115 is the speaker cord with the medium B acute oversized although for me it is possible that the SM112 would have been better with a subwoofer (not hollow 250Hz) in my opinion this is only my opinion.
- With experience, you do again this choice? ...
Ah! Well if I had known I would have ended up with such RCF Art! Is only for weight: 42kg 25kg to be against RCF.
At the time the test was the economy, "they" were not too many means, but if it would in the purely personal, more objective, two brand would simply amplified, the bass in less it is true (sic ).
Coupled 2-2 generate the SM115 still pretty low, even if it is not 15G450 ...
I keep them, it will be reused for the 18 years of my niece, and it can do in the world, as before: except that there can be decoupled into three rooms (one input, two major) with 3 x 15 meters of cable with two signal boxes symmetrization: tested on 30 meters (signal wires) the fact that (while jack wired "house" economic forces).
So no experience with my job if it was a mixed vertex or line array + return if not in use extra-professional plus product type RCF Art or TT, with a weakness because I love the sound Dynacord EV.
Last point: Tested in a large room with all the pack: ultra positive, it grows!
