1 M-Audio Axiom 25 + Midisoft Recording Session. Do they work?
Hello everybody this is my first time in this forum. First of all I apologize for my English, as I'm not a native speaker.

I bought an Axiom 25, and I have not been able to make it works. I use a really old software called "Midisoft Recording Session", which I like very much, I've made my MIDI files and then I've made MP3 files from them to play live with my guitar Until now I have been writing every single note of my MIDI files with the mouse on "Midisoft Recording Session", so I decided to buy the controller (the Axiom25). I installed it, I fix the driver stuff, but... nothing works!

I have to say that I'm not a formal musician, I use Session because I like to write music as on a sheet, and I do not feel comfortable with other software like Cubase or FL, which result a bit complicated to me (too much buttons!, just wanna rock!).

Could someone please help me with this? PLEASE?

have you configured or selected the axiom inside Midisoft Recording Session?  and are you using the midi channel 1?

Dear kon-tiki thanks for answering. Now my problem is different. Midisoft Recording Session (MRS) has a Set up menu, and inside there is an option for MIDI drivers. It looks as follows:

<a href="http://s35.photobucket.com/albums/d153/alarconandres/?action=view&current=Session02.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d153/alarconandres/Session02.jpg" border="0" alt="session"></a>

The Axiom25 and the laptop finally communicated, but I cannot hear the notes I'm playing! I see them when I record them, but I can't hear them, so it's really difficult, I suppose there is a way to hear the notes while playing, isn't it? I chose Base-level Setup (channels 13-16) and I didn't hear a note. It was the same when I chose Extended-level Setup (channels 1-10) and when I chose General MIDI Setup (channels 1-16).

Hi there

Well the software is from 1992...wow! The sound itself is generated by Soundfont so there might be a problem with hearing the notes as you play. It should work in Playback as the application is basically just a MIDI Player. But I am not sure if the sound engine is setup to acutally hear the sound as you are playing on the keyboard. Did you try to record something and then hit play on the software? Is there sound?

Considering the age of this software it might be that you are forced to use something a bit more modern. There are many alternatives out there...I know you like it simple...but that is what I suggest.
