The mixer is not rackable without modifications. The main inputs are RCA, and outputs are RCA and XLR. It has analog connections and 4 channels, each with 2 inputs for phono and line. The eq is not parametric and simply has separate knobs for bass, mid, and treble. There is an integrated effects section, but it does not support automation. Synchronization is not supported on this model.

UTILIZATION

Functions are very easily accessible, and great fun to use once the user is accustomed to the unit. Install is very easy, and connection is straightforward. The manual is clear and does not leave out any important information about running the mixer.

SOUNDS

The sound quality is perfect without generating hiss or distortion. The sound of the mixer and effects are great, although sound a little dated now that we are in 2010. EQ's are great and still function very well after all these years.

OVERALL OPINION

The thing I like most about this mixer is the reliability, layout and use, and standardization. In clubs, this mixer or an updated version of this mixer is pretty much all you will see, so as a DJ, it makes it easier to play in strange places when you are familiar with the equipment. The mixer can be purchased for a relatively small amount of money as new models and updates have since been released. The sound is precise and perfect, with the only wear and tear on the mixer in my experience being the faders wearing out after many years of normal use (or a few years of rough use). Faders are inexpensive to replace and hardly a detractor as a purchase point. Before I had this mixer, I owned Numark mixers, which were good for starters, but as I became more experienced I wanted more options as well as a more professional feel. Moving up to this mixer was ideal because it did not involve a large financial investment, but the benefits were a large step up from the previously used Numark Models.
