Novation Remote 49 LE

UTILIZATION

The touch keyboard is it enjoyable?
I find gnial! It suits me perfectly, it is dynamic trs (nothing to do with the evolution MK 249 I had before)

Configuration gnrale Is it easy?
To use the keyboard no problem (mm no driver needed) But for the MIDI controller, then the I have to say it's not super simple ... Care must be taken also set properly apps (Reason, Logic Express, Absynth) and does not change templates hsiter factory. Ditto for the assignment of transport keys (eg logic, go to the shortcut and assign the button by "learning")
Once everything is in place the keyboard is trs enjoyable to use is pure happiness.

The select MIDI channels, patches is easy?
Very easy, but again care must be taken well set the apps (in Absynth 3 do not forget to click on Enable Program Change)

The manual is clear and sufficient? ...

Dernire recommendation: Be careful not to be confused with the Remote SL which the possde AutoMapping.

On paper the features are good but ...

A after my purchase Novation has decided to develop the drivers! Impressive decision probably motivated by the arrivéee Vista.

They sent me the beta version of these drivers and installed as soon everything started to function as it should have done from the beginning! Magical and incomprehensible. How can a company like Novation to market a product as immature and unable to do what it is designed? Why wait so long to recognize that there is a problem and implement corrective actions?

UTILIZATION

Installation problems. This thing is supposedly Class Compliant which means that there is no need to install any drivers ... in theory.

The controller appears in the system when connected via USB, but invisible in all other applications (Sonar, Cubase, software conf ,...) which means it does not control anything USB on my PC in any case. The only way to use it and use the MIDI OUT. What sucks for a USB interface!

J uses Windows XP SP2 .... Their assistance has been so far unable to give me a valid explanation ... ... and the manual is very vague in terms of setting in the various applications.

I feel it will soon have returned on the merchant .... and I would not be surprised if other than me had the same problem!

Waiting for Troubleshooting ... but no experience when it works right the first time, it's not a good sign!
