UTILIZATION
The handle is "modern", with profile C. Above that is slightly V.
My favorite guitar is an Ovation Custom Balladeer venerable purchased almost 77 and fretless today, I had a little trouble to get used to, as the key is flat, thin frets and the profile of the handle end, rather comparable to an electrical. Finally, in use, it proves very comfortable and above all fast.
The pan Venetian cut and well thought heel make easily accessible the higher notes.
The guitar is, like all Yamaha products, particularly well finished (On that side, some U.S. companies could really take a leaf!), Satin finish with an extra end, pretty binding varnish, and mini jumbo shape is super nice . Featherweight, well balanced, precise mechanical.
SOUNDS
For folk, country, reggae, accompanying voices, arpeggios, strumming, picking the flat, it is the job without being great, provided it is properly amplified. As it is really nice on a good amp, as the narrowness of his body does not dedicate a pure acoustic playing. In other words, projection and its average dry, but it is constructed to be finally amplified.
For my part, I torque to a Marshall 80 Soloist with an equalization between the pedal and the sound is there. Its dual sound system (piezo micro and air), well adjusted, give him a sound quite nice, respecting the nuances of the game it is energy efficient, the 9v battery holds out longer.
Recently, I had the opportunity to test it on a Quilter Micropro 200 (which incidentally is a marvel, electric, acoustic, everything passes and sublime, a true Swiss army knife) and I'm really surprised and impressed with the results, so much so that I quickly larguerai my (too) heavy Marshall to order one in California (no distributor in Gaul).
OVERALL OPINION
It's been four years years that I have, and I do not regret my purchase (used, I would not have bought new ...). Not only is it a beautiful guitar, well finished, nice to play, but on the express condition of using trendy ... she then delivers a credible and balanced sound that goes well in the mix for a tight budget. At home, in pure sound, for the training, she can work and pass without being great, but the "acoustic" pure pass their way.
In short, to sum up, a good solid electro, designed and built for use in electronics. For the pure acoustic, place your hand (and money) and turn you to Martin, Gibson, Guild, Larrivee, Furch, Taylor and for the wealthy or virtuosos of you, Collings, Santa Cruz and Lowden.
