ATC announces the availability of the second version of its SCM20ASL Pro active monitors as well as the SCM20PSL Pro passive edition.

The SCM20ASL Pro 2 had been unveiled during Musikmesse earlier this year (see this news), but ATC did not mention at this time the addition of a new and more affordable version of this high-end monitor.

With a fully reworked design, the SCM20ASL Pro 2 and SCM20PSL Pro are two-way proximity monitors equipped with a 6” woofer with proprietary Super Linear technology and 3” voice coil, as well as a soft dome 1” neodymium tweeter (SH-25–76S), the first that is fully designed and built by ATC. The woofer can handle high power and the tweeter features a dual suspension system, ATC explains that it avoids using Ferro-Fluid which default is its drying with time. The tweeter, which frequency range can reach 26kHz, is completed with an alloy-made waveguide.

The SCM20ASL Pro 2 active monitor also hosts a MOSFET Class AB amplifier that provides 200W for the bass and 50W for the treble. The amp includes protections against overheat and DC offset. The monitor also includes a shelf low control and an improved output sensitivity knob, both are installed on the back along with the on/off switch.

The enclosure of both versions is made of MDF, with external and internal panels designed to minimize resonance and diffraction. They can also be wall-mounted.

The SCM20ASL Pro has a suggested UK price of £3647 excl. taxes and £2083 excl. taxes for the SCM20PSL passive model. Both are sold in pairs.

Technical details will soon be available at www.atcloudspeakers.co.uk.
