I chose these speakers after listening comparison between 5 'and 6' and 8 'in Yamaha, Mackie, KRK, Prodipe, M-Audio and even Adam and Focal ... I wanted to replace my Yam HS50M just too low and in which the sound deteriorates at high volume by a model with 8 HP, reasonably priced and above all with her, even if it is not a neutral foolproof, that I like and match what I like in a register rather hear pop, rock, funk. I hesitated with Yam HS80M and preferred the Mackies warmer, less analytical, more comfortable. I also use them for home studio recording rock bands and I kept the yam HS50 in 2nd listening: when the mix sounds on both models is that the truth is not far off ...
Power rating, no complaints, never thoroughly tested, it already sending strong mid-volume (fully soundproofed room of 5x4m)

SOUNDS

Pregnant flattering a hair on low span far to the rear. Very good dynamic (low-battery listen to Jamiroquai ...), stereo picture far superior to my HS50, the sound is clear and precise at both low and high volume.

OVERALL OPINION

Already very pleased with these speakers, I attack shortly in a more accurate acoustic treatment of home studio (although already soundproofed walls, floor and ceiling) for optimal listening, as the catch.

The quality / price seems good probably one of the best in its class.

For the same budget and the same conditions of use (home studio musician, acoustically treated room imperfectly) I redid the same choice, without hesitation, it is certainly beyond for professionals in the profession.
