Radial Engineering has introduced at NAMM 2014 the Space Heater 8-Channel Tube Drive and Summing Mixer.

The Space Heater is an 8-channel mixer that combines 12 AX7 tubes with Eclipse transformers to produce a huge bottom end, according to the manufacturer. The 1 RU 19" rack frame mixer offers the possibility to select the applied voltage on the tube (25, 50 or 100 volts) via a 3-position switch to make it lo-fi, mid-fi or hi-fidelity.

It further features a four stereo-pair design with 1/4" TRS or D-sub inputs. Each channel pair is 100% discrete and is equipped with separate drive and level controls, plus send and receive insert jacks, and high-pass filter. The send jack doubles as a second output with the D-Sub for parallel processing.

On the master section there’s a simple level control, headphone amp and XLR or TRS outputs. It runs on an external power brick (100V to 240V).

The Space Heater is expected to start shipping in April 2014 with an estimated retail price of $2000 USD.
