UTILIZATION

I use this mixer with Marantz PMD620 recorder ("tape OUT" connected to the MixPre "in line" with the PMD620 stereo mini-jack cable "unbalanced").

MixPre configuration is simple, but reading the manual is worth before first use.

The case is very sturdy.

Caution: Enabling Power "phantom" is obligatory on the two entries at a time (no way to use an input power with "phantom" and without aure).

SOUNDS

I was impressed with the quality of the preamps: neutral, breathless and with good headroom for my use.

I finally feel the best use of my mics (mainly a pair of Rode NT5, Shure SM57 and a Audix I5)!

OVERALL OPINION

I use the MixPre for a week. I was impressed with the quality of recordings that can be done with. I am very happy.

Nine, the MixPre is relatively affordable in the U.S. (compared to other mixers of good quality), but I think it's really expensive in France.
