MXR M84 Bass Fuzz Deluxe

UTILIZATION

SOUND QUALITY

We are in the presence of a "creamy" fuzz with a tight grain. OVERALL OPINION

I recently and frankly I love it! Nothing to do with the bass big muff and muddy and unclear sound (and unbearable lag time!). I had a great Mazzette (which took place very well in the mix with a very defined sound) however the sound I was looking for was less aggressive, more creamy. I found with the mxr. UTILIZATION

The M84 stands out with its 4 knobs: Dry, Wet, Tone and Fuzz. And for me it happens to one of the great strengths of this pedal: for each knob settings are fine (1 mm or 2 and hop on the mean difference) and thus allow a wide variety. It is clear, clear, effective.

SOUND QUALITY

In terms of sound that is also very very good. I do a lot of research and tested several pedals but without ever having to crush up the M84! I love its texture, its heat and its ability to keep some nice bass. I preferred to the Big Muff Pi (not sure, lack of character for my taste) and MXR El Grande (which I love, but I find less convincing settings). OVERALL OPINION

It's only been two weeks since I played with but I sure not to fall for another fuzz before a long time! Certainly the price is higher than a Muff, but also much lower than that of a Wooly Mammoth.
