Super amp OLD SCHOOL!

By manu_2259, 26/03/2011
Everything has already been said! Except that the grip is plastic, not leather (super resistant).

UTILIZATION

Super simple setup. Is obtained directly Fender sound!

SOUNDS

I use a Fender Precision and a Fender U.S. Jazzbass U.S.. I was looking for an amp to play covers of rock style LED ZEP, DEEP PURPLE, KINKS ... I asked my dealer and he told me this amp. I plugged my bass and there, slap! A typed her super round 60's. dissemination of its extraordinary. Live in a bar with a furious drummer, two guitar player and singer excited screaming, I put the preamp to 11/12 for heat through the lamp, the volume to 6 / 12 and I spend much over. Not even need me on the dub sound!

If you want a sense of sound: # p/u/29/PMfDfVLpODw

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 months. I had the Warwick, the Markbass LMK2 but I found the sound too modern. I hesitated with the Orange Terror bass head (easier to carry) but I never found a speaker who could give such a record as the Fender.
Ascending: The big Fender sound. The look tweed
The -: lack of handrails. I would have preferred casters with a brake system. It is heavy, but in the words of the editor of BASS MAGAZINE "If you want the sound, the cabinet door!"
Value for money correct.
»

As they say on paper: "It sounds like bass should"!

Tube preamp (12AX7 a)
Two input jacks (one regular and one boosted, I think ..) and a line-out XLR
350 W
An HP 15 "
5 knobs: Volume, bass, middle, treble and gain plus two switches "Deep" and "Bright".
A few ultra-solid on top and wheels (Hallelujah, the bug still weighs 30 kg ..)

A particular look, which I love. The tweed cab, its effect is still on stage, amid the black boxes .. When we see and when we hear, I smell the desert, hot, Mexico, sweat ... In short, it's very very hot ..
The knobs "chicken feet" and the light ruby contribute to this atmosphere ..

I takes only 8 because I wish there were the connections needed to move the amp into 8 Ω speaker and add an extra .. Like a 4X10, 1X15, which would have completed. "But that would break with the next vintage of the range .. But the sound of the 15" alone is more than enough to fill .. In repeated; I put the volume and the gain to 4 and my guitar is almost cry ..
Similarly, the handles on the side would have been simpler than the handle on top .. But at the time, the handle was on top .. Vintage, I tell you!

UTILIZATION

Extremely simple, no equalizer to 120000 frequency, no clear channels / saturated / modern / vintage / etc ...
An amplifier for those who do not want to take the lead or most of us stayed (I'm in between ..).
One branch, it sounds! Afterwards, we refine the equalizer with three bands and two boosts "Deep" and "Bright" ..
According to the manufacturer, the setting "flat" is this: B = 3, M = 1, T = 3 .. And it sounds live! Afterwards, we change to the ear.
There is a manual, I did not read it, I do not know where he is, but anyway, it's not even thick enough to prop up my coffee table .. Therefore totally useless ..

SOUNDS

It's simple: it is a modernized new edition (in manufacturing, not in sound) of early Fender Bassman 50s. The sound is warm, even fat, it's not an amp that sings, it's an amp that roars ..
I play a Yamaha bass TRB4 amended ('sounded too modern pickups changed to "vintagiser" the beast ..) and soon with an Epiphone Jack Casady (I know beforehand that it will sound ..) and the sound is exactly as I wanted: round and warm. I play with his inflated with overdrive (either with my pedal (EBS ValveDrive (tube)) or by pushing the gain of the amplifier to its limits .. It is for that!
I was looking for a big sound for playing blues-rock work in the genre of ZZ Top, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Doors, The White Stripes ... In short, I had the vintage, heavy, fat, sexy etc. .. In short, this is not one of these amps screaming and dry as Hartke, SWR or Markbass (sorry for the fans ..): you play bass, right? So here is an amp for a true bass sound!
I thought at the base of the Ampeg BA600-115, but I fell for this Fender from the first second .. And I think I'm the right choice .. The Ampeg has not had that vintage sound that I love so much! And many more Ampeg has reputation before ..
I also use it on guitar .. And the sound is also very hot, very bold, very heavy, like the sound of Josh Homme with Queens Of The Stone Age for example.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it since July about 2010 ..

Ascending:
Sound
The simple to use:
The look
The wheels that save lives and back

The -:
Weight (but not prohibitive, it smells strength .. And then, whatever the make or model, for a combo of that power, you'll never have a featherweight ..)
Handles on the side would have been welcome.
The possibility of adding an additional speaker is also practical. Although the power delivered by the 15 "is more than enough!

Weight: 27.8 kg

A leather handle on top.
Comes with removable wheels.

No entry for an additional speaker, but it works in 4 ohm speaker, so this choice is fully explained. And then, 350 Watts into 4 ohms, this is enough for many scene.
It therefore lacks a tuner input, and handles on the sides would have been welcome.
To do this, and given the price of the machine, I do not the maximum.

UTILIZATION

Very simple configuration: Here is the list of knobs: Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, Volume,
Added to 2 switch: "Deep" and "Bright".
No need for manual, everything is very simple.
we get a very good sound, very quickly. It's simple, no need to search too long (but if you spend time, it can also greatly refine)
The EQ works well: each volume pot goes from 1 to 12. Knobs for bass and treble, the position is "Flat" on 3. For knob mediums, the position "flat" is 10.
So the EQ to cut a little bass and treble, but more push. otherwise on the midrange.
Frequencies have been well calibrated, which avoids some problems.
This amp is built for Pop, Rock, but also sounds more muffled Jazz Standard by cutting Frequency converter. For metal, I find it just yet, but I'm working again. To see.
His power is great, especially his "circulation" is incredible. Gone are the days where "means the bass when it stops playing," now you're playing, you hear what you do!

To sum up, great sound, very well balanced, versatile enough but not too much, and has a power and an excellent distribution.

SOUNDS

It is ideally suited to some of my music styles (Rock, Pop.)

I use it with a Rickenbacker 4003, and a low Kah Dune Lawrence 003-05.
We get very good sound, whether with fingers or plectrum, rounded or drier. To do so saturated with the gain in depth (and to overload the lamp max), we need a bass with high output, active preferences. My "Rick" can not. For the metal to "Korn", it seems a bit tight.

It accepts far-reaching impact. And this amp is great with a fuzz, an overdrive or distortion. He brings a "grain" to our little pedal, and sounds really good.

On this point Fender did not lie, this amp is made for the Fuzz, or distos (overdrive or larger).

Nothing to complain about his level, we are in the high end!

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 15 days. It replaces my old hardware (TECH 21 landmark 300, baffle TC Electronic RS 210, Warwick W 115 Pro)
Of all the amps I could have (Aguilar Db 728, SWR Goliath III TECH 21 PSA 1.1) it is clear that the best of any mix, which "broadcasts" the best.
TECH 21 on my head, my settings were similar to that of a Fender Bassman, and that is why, seeing a 350-watt combo out, I had taken the step to get a config both simpler and more powerful, requiring 2 TECH 21 HP to run at 350 watts.
The 15 "has an enormous power, which is more than enough at any stage (unless you're playing at the Zenith, or he will take it back!)

One of its features is its response to effects pedals like overdrive / distortion / fuzz.
The fact that there is no output for additional speaker is not a problem except pure make nice on stage. That would still was more to get a nice "stack."

The big minus for me is the lack of grip on the sides, which does not favor the transport of the baffle, which fortunately is not heavy (but still quite large).

In addition, an input tuner was a bonus.

Excellent value for money, big power, great sound. Good quality workmanship at first sight.

Hybrid combo amp 350W into 4 Ohms, cake Celestion 15 ", XLR line out, lamp warm-12AX7, power amplifier class D, 27.8 kg (after the poop in the morning). Made in Mexico.

For the panel: two instrument inputs (including one-6dB), gain, bass, middle, treble, volume and two switches to boost bass or treble (deep & bright). Simple and effective.

Frankly, 7ender was hard with this combo, it looks like a vintage amp for 60 years! Covered with beige tweed varnish, volume buttons "chicken head", chrome plate parameters, HP brown canvas of great beauty, and the small wheels efficient light tensioning ruby way, frankly it's class. Only flaw in my opinion: there is a plastic handle (solid) to bring it, I liked the side handles ...

UTILIZATION

The receiver could not be more functional and easy to use: a bass, a jack and go! It really is the amp that can best illustrate the concept of "plug and play". In less than 10 seconds, we found its sound.

SOUNDS

Once connected, no doubt, has the sound 7ender in all its glory. It's a hybrid amp with a 12AX7 in the lamp glow, but it is widely believe that it is an all-tube amp.

Sound level, if you have a passion for the six-string bass and jazz-rock, forget this amp right now, you do not match at all. The sound is warm, round, clear and thanks to the lamp glow. I chose the model with a 15 'car, playing in a trio and are often granted in Eb, I need a definition in the bass.

It really is the ideal amp for rock and blues (it's good, that's what I play). This amp does not have to be ashamed to be called the Bassman. Regarding power, 350W are present, no worries for group play, not to exceed twelve o'clock gain and volume, is already shaking the walls.

I play on big stages with a stack Carvin 300W 4 * 10 1 * 18 and for concerts in places more complicated to access, I had a combo like this. I have a US JB Deluxe 06 ', a US PB Elite 83', a Höfner 500/1M 70 'and Rick-o-Steel manufactured by Loïc Le Pape.

OVERALL OPINION

I found this amp at a demo for the CS 7ender I played it and I fell in love, that's exactly what I was looking combo as it will be perfect for dates of the smaller stages, but also for acoustic shows.

Well it's not really a "small" combo, but frankly, although I feel that I will suffer for lugging around, I do not regret my purchase. I think this amp ideal for those who love the lights but can not lug around a huge head and 8 * 10 that goes with ...

Well, I must admit that I'm going to add my SVT-DI to be sure ...

I bought a B300-115 @ mpeg, I took it out of the box, I tried it, back into the box and immediately resold to acquire the Bassman! Nothing to do, no potato, finishes that are poor, in short, the cheap ...

Honestly, the high price is reflected in hardware, finishes are impeccable, we feel that the production made in Mexico is light years away in the nearly widespread Asian production. Clearly, the heavy, powerful, sexy, 7ender the way we like it.
