Before I was using a Trace Elliot 2x12, but the sound never really agreed (I play in a hardcore band). Having had the opportunity to test a 8x10 Ashdown (MAG) and an Ampeg fridge (810E), I was more tempted by the second. Meanwhile I found this EBS 4x12, and as the config 12 "kicking me more (more bass and low mids than 10"), I went to test it. And there! Slap! Dynamic power and crazy, very good bass response, AC growl (the tweeter plays his role superbly). The choice was almost made after consultation with my local dealer, which I strongly recommend BSE in hand rather than the Ampeg new at it ... it said. For specifications: 800 watts 4 ohms Speakon and Jack Connectors (2 each time,...…

One flaw: the weight! 61kg, better not be alone to put it in the box ...

SOUNDS

The sound is very neutral, respects what she sends, it's really not typed (at least that's what anyone with EBS said ...) The bass response is amazing (that of the 12 "what) and sound is super dynamic (103dB sensitivity in) I use a Gallien Krueger 700RB II head that develops its 400 here and a few watts (needless to say it sends heavy, even with the volume to 1 / 4), while the EQ is almost noon, I take off a little treble and hi mids, and I push a little low mids and bass, with the tweeter set to watch. My bass: ESP / LTD B2005 with EMG active pickups (same, big sound). This is not the Stereo, but wow, it's good!

OVERALL OPINION

It's really a pure speaker, although almost too big for any stage (caf conc ') and too heavy (ouch back). As stated above, I tested a 8x10 Ashdown outdoors, but I have not hooked, even though it sounded pretty, but I like it when it goes too fast in the high ... The Ampeg 8x10 is nice, its really hot, I really liked, but the Ampeg is no longer what it was, and I'm not disappointed to have taken the EBS. Like: The sound! The look (big chrome grille) The recessed wheels and handles well placed. Like least: The weight (10kg but a speaker does not sound like AC!) There is no Swedish ships with ...
