The Visual Sound Visual Volume is an in depth volume pedal that I have tried out with electric guitar. You can definitely use it for any electric or electronic instrument, as it works the same no matter what you use it with. It's got more flexibility in terms of connections than most volume pedals, as it has two 1/4" inputs and two 1/4" outputs and another 1/4" output for your tuner. The pedal does require nine volt power, which isn't always the case when it comes to volume pedals. It isn't rack mountable in any way as it is a foot controlled device.
UTILIZATION
Once you've made your connections to the Visual Sound Visual Volume pedal, there isn't much that you need to know. Simply press the pedal all the way down to mute your sound and press it up to get full volume. This is the same with any volume pedal, but even if you don't have any experience with volume pedals, this is definitely an easy enough concept to figure out right off the bat. The pedal will also display the amount of volume you have it set at with LED lights, which is definitely helpful and unique to the Visual Sound Visual Volume. A manual is not necessary under any circumstances.
SOUND QUALITY
The Visual Sound Visual Volume won't affect your tone quality at all, which is exactly what you look for in a volume pedal. Since it doesn't make any sounds of it's own, all you can really ask is that it doesn't take away from your other sound. You'll definitely find this with the Visual Volume pedal, although it doesn't have true bypass.
OVERALL OPINION
The only downfall of the Visual Sound Visual Volume is the price. While you're definitely getting a better than average volume pedal because of the LED lights, the feel, and the flexibility in terms of connections, I'm not convinced that it is worth the asking price. Unless a volume pedal is something that you find yourself using on an everyday basis, it seems to me that a less expensive volume pedal will do the job just fine. However, I can't argue with those who want a nice and shiny volume pedal like the Visual Sound Visual Volume...
