SSL unveils at Musikmesse its first digital mixing console designed for live applications, simply called Live.
The SSL Live digital console allows live and FOH engineers to mix up to 976 inputs and outputs and use 192 audio processing “paths” in 96kHz (tracks, auxes, stem groups and masters) which can be configured for each show. The number of available channels can be increased via optional Stagebox I/O MADI cards.
The microphone inputs are equipped with SuperAnalogue preamps and the Live console features 24-bit / 96kHz A/D and D/A converters. The internal process is operated in 64-bit.
Live also features a section of 30 new effects and audio analyzing tools.
Multiple tablet-style multi-touch control surfaces/displays are also available, along with physical commands and it is possible to combine touch and physical commands simultaneously.
Depending upon configuration, prices range between $84,000 / £48,000 and $130,000 / £75,000. The SSL Live console is expected in September, 2013. Following is a video shot this morning by our team at Musikmesse. All the details will soon be available at www.solid-state-logic.com.
