Groovesizer announces the availability of a new firmware for its DIY digital module based on the Arduino platform.

Groovesizer is an open source Arduino-type module which functions depends on the firmware you’ll load at it. You can use it as a synth, a step sequencer, a MIDI controller, a drum machine… The manufacturer is currently offering 6 different firmwares, which can all be freely hacked and you can develop your own firmware according to your needs using the Arduino IDE.

The Groovesizer features a PCB, 6 knobs and 5 rows of 8 touch switches and LEDs (4 rows for the sequencer/triggers and a row for the control). MIDI In, Out and Sync are available, as well as a LM386 low voltage amp output and an 8-bit DAC option.

The full Groovesizer kit is available for the price of $140 (plus shipping fees), and the assembled module retails for $190. You can also purchase the different elements separately. Note that the 9V DC power supply is not included in any of the kits. More info at groovesizer.com.
