How long have you use it?

For 7/8 months, so I know always count.

Have you tried many other models before buying it?

After 10 years of DJing, I rubbed shoulders with all kinds of equipment, turntables, CD decks of high quality and MIDI interfaces. Technics MK2 with or without traktor scratch, CDJ 1000 MK3, a VCI 100 and now a Xone K2 combo + F1 + NI Traktor Pro.

I'm not here to revive any controversy, I did this choice today to mix in "all computerized." For saving time, space, installation, size, price. Historically, the primary function of a Disc Jockey was to play music, to adapt to the audience, with good communication and appropriate music selection.

What is the particular feature you like best and least?

I like the interface as a whole, buttons, knobs are pleasant to use. Level faders, I think it should not be the bully, it is clearly not the mixer faders.

The number of global parameters and assignment opportunities are some advantages. Programming logic is simplistic, for the fans of the hack, one can set at will. If you can find TSI download on the web.

My overall implementation is divided into two layers and a half, more than enough for my use. Complementarity Xone K2 + NI F1 is essential and makes sense to easily control 4 channels (2 Tracks + 2 Decks Remix). Traktor Pro license is included in the offer of Native Instruments, it helps to go over very good foundation of creativity and mix for less than 500 €.

Layer 1 (red): it performs the traditional functions: menu navigation / Songs + loading on each deck, play, pause, cue, sync, PFL headphones, faders, EQ + Kill.

Layer 2 (amber): manages the hot cues, and loop the autoloop manual (tracks 1 and 2). I run up the FX 4 groups for my 4 decks.

layer 3 (green): it manages the hot cues, and loop the autoloop manual (tracks 3 and 4). Useless for me, I Ulise F1 to manage channels 3 and 4 Decks remix. Above, I manage levels, filters, desired configurations, the recording. etc..

How would you rate the quality / price? With experience, you do again this choice?

I remake that choice without hesitation, the Xone K2 is a good interface for DJing, I have not used in other cases, but it must keep its promises.
