[Musikmesse] Korg unveils the Volca synth series

Korg keeps on surfing on the Mini wave and after the Monotron and Monotribe mini-synth, they now introduce the Volca Series with three models.

The Korg Volca Series features three analogue mini-synths, respectively the lead Keys, Bass and Beats models. Each synth includes a recorder and sequencer, speakers, MIDI In and Sync In/Out for chaining multiple Volca synths or connecting a Volca to a MIDI keyboard controller or DAW. The three synths are battery powered.

Volca Synth is a polyphonic lead synth equipped with 27 keys, three oscillators, a filter section based on the MiniKORG700S, a delay effect, a loop sequencer and a motion sequencer that records in real time the knob editions. Other features include Flux and Active Step functions for adding dynamics to the sequences.

Volca Bass is a bass synth with three oscillators, a filter section, VCA, VCF, LFO and envelope generator, along with a 16-step sequencer, a Slide function and an Active Step feature that generates new bass lines by adding or removing steps.

Last, Volca Beats is a drum machine with 6 analogue editable parts, a one-function per knob design, PCM sound engine, 16-step sequencer with 8 preset patches, a Stutter effect and Active Step (adds/removes steps and Step Jump functions, the latter only plays the pressed step.
