A micro ultra sturdy and very heavy for the recovery of sources.

I 5, I qussi an AKG D112: for the kick, there's no photo: ATM25, its very modern and percussive, accurate too. The D112 still finished on the floor tom, for there I find the Audio Technica is too "hard". The others are used for the snare and toms used in home studio.
I did some tests on electrical Gratt's clean, and an acoustic guitar, it's the modern art poster, but unless you find a color pariculière, he excels in the resumption of percussive elements.

OVERALL OPINION

I the boards since I started, so about 3 years. It is indestructible as micro, but to put it on a clip ... IEA must tighten the clamp if the weight of the mic is down illico ... It has a strong link also on an axis.

I use it on different scenes, large and small, and he never betrayed: it is the insured! it has everything: fishing, stamp but never in excess.
Of course we always ask in relation to a beta 52 or AKG D112, and I say, contrary to some opinion that it is these micro + neutral (eg, beta 52 is pushed into the 4kHz to 16 db! ! not easy to change his stamp).

I tried everything in micro "classic" for the bass drum (Sennheiser 421, Beta 52, D112 and D12 AKG, Electrovoice RE20) when I do the best rock is not sorry.

I had a Prodipe kit, including bass drum mic was really the weak link.

Unlike the micro GC Prodipe, the grave is here clear and well defined, it does not bleed.

The Audio-Technica ATM25 is a dynamic microphone that is suitable for use in the recording studio or on the stage. I've only used it for recording, but it would certainly work either way. This mic is not to be confused with the Audio-Technica Pro 25, which looks similar but is definitely a different mic on the inside, as this one sounds a lot better. It's got a hyper cardioid polar pick up pattern, making it great for recording things up close like drums or an amplifier cabinet. It will pick up frequencies between 30 Hz and 15 kHz, which isn't ideal but will work fine for picking up lower and mid range sounds.

OVERALL OPINION

In my time using the Audio-Technica ATM25, I've been very pleased with it. It's a versatile microphone with flexibility when it comes to recording drums. I've used it for kick drum, tom drums, and snare drum, as well as for both an electric guitar and a bass guitar cabinet. I liked the mic best for recording bass guitar as well as kick drum. It didn't do it for me on snare drum, as I tried it both on the top and the bottom. However, it sounded great on the inside of the kick drum and right up on the grill for bass guitar. I guess it must have a nice low end response since the applications that I liked it best for were bass instruments. I would bet that the ATM25 would work very well for most applications in a live setting as well just by judging from it's make up. I haven't personally tried it for any live applications since I don't do live sound. The price isn't too expensive, but even at this price there are some other mics I'd go for instead. It really just depends on what you're looking to record. The ATM25 has more versatility than something like an AKG D112, but if you're just looking for something to record bass sounds with, I'd got with the D112. It depends on what you want to do with it, but the Audio-Technica ATM25 definitely offers up a good amount.
