Condenser microphone. Long and thin. An attenuator is present, although hidden under the XLR. You need a small screwdriver to turn it on.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for almost 15 years (the firm was called at the time Bruel & Kjaer, which is more exotic than DPA).
The sound is clear, with a very flat frequency response even off axis. No breath, just crystal clear, almost surgical. Requires a preamp a bit "hot" side to compensate for this "almost too precise." I recorded a lot of things: acoustic guitar, piano, violin, cello, string quartet. Even the voice is remarkable. I would give a 9.5 out of 10 if the existing half points ... But hey, it's a micro fearless (158 dB SPL cash it) and without reproach.
