From there, we are in the craft and all customizations are possible. Mine is passive in ovankgol with ebony fingerboard. The ovangkol is a beautiful wood, with an intermediate color between rosewood and mahogany (making it very badly on the photos), with a beautiful grain.
On Thierry advice, I ordered a neck-through to sustain. My JB pickups are Bartolini, the settings are the classic three buttons on a Jazz Bass: volume of each pickup tone.
USE
Everything is nice in this low: pleasant to watch, play standing as sitting. It gives an impression of density but is not heavy, the handle through the notches and give easy access to acute.
Button not false frets, the use points on the side is sufficient and I do not think it's very pretty.
I would add for beginners who hesitate, with a little ear a fretless is quite accessible. It is both more comfortable to play (lower share softer playing), more sensual, a fretted bass. Fingers learn quickly to reset on the right intervals, at least in the bottom of the handle. Just play in the treble remains difficult. But it's also what makes the charm of the game fretless.
SOUNDS
I will not make you the blow of "one branch and it is the sound Pasto" because there Jaco Jaco, and the sound is also and above all in the fingers ... but it is still the first impression I had!
