Gibson SG Standard Bass

4-string bass guitar from Gibson belonging to the SG Bass series

multiplate multiplate

short scale, 20 frets, 2 pickups, mounting to the jazz bass, good finish, Balanced

UTILIZATION

the handle is perfect (to my taste), it is thick, thin, precise, easy rapide.ergonomie SG so acute. it does not carry much weight.

SOUNDS

I play rock has the old (typed motorhead, ac dc, led zep ...) and it corresponds to what I can expect from the sound of a bass in this style. I mainly use the bridge pickup which is incisive without being garish! of experience I would say that this bass can do more than rock, jazz a little pissed at funck dirty.
I played with a preamp (ebs v.drive) and a drive over t rex, sometimes with a wah. Me love his growl with a little crunch.

OVERALL OPINION

it's a good bass, with a very distinct character, which changes the traditional fender. I played bass with another type j bass and Co., that I could easily return to these models in large part because of race. that of the SG bass is a revelation to see an evidence for my hands ..
