I bought this at Guitar Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in April of 2002 for $200, it was my first bass.

This is a great beginner bass, it as great sound and playability. It will definitely last a long time and has good resale value. It is surely a better choice them some other beginner basses that are not made of sufficient quality. This bass will not let you down, it has a good tone for rock genres and will last you a long time.

Is not the high quality, but you get what you pay for, I prefer neck-through compared to bolt on design, and a stronger wood on the neck than rosewood. And I prefer a bass with 24 frets, this only has 22.

Good construction and quality, I did have an issue years ago were the screw that held in the strap at fallen out, some toothpicks and glue later, I re-screwed it in and it held up for years after that. Other then that I can't really complain about the construction, it lasted me 8 years and then I sold it for half the retail price, this thing can handle it.

Great first bass that wont break your budget! If your a pro, look elsewhere.

I Have been playing bass for only one year. In my year of playing i have been in a band gor 4 months and all i do is play. Since I have only played bass for a year my knowledge of the insturment is limited. But over the year of playing i feel like i have grown as a musician. I like playing what me and my drummer like to call "Improv. Funk" There is a bit of slapping involved and lots of fast fretting.

What i like about this bass is the playability. When i picked it up i wasnt heavy like the basses i use at my school. The Neck is a comfertable size. The pickups are great for the "classic" thumb rest. This Bass is great for someone starting to play. Its something you could pickup, plug in and jam with years after your purchase

One thing i really didnt like about this bass is the strings. Ibanez uses weird strings. When i first plugged in there was an annoying buzz. I raised my action to try and prevent the buzz, i removed the string which was a pain with the string through bridge. I then ended up replacing the strings and poof. problem solved.

This bass is one solid piece of work. Once it gets tuned up and customized this thing will never die. I have dropped it off a table, sat on it, tripped over it, even almost broke a mirror with it but nothihng unfortunate has happened.

Bottom Line is this bass is a great piece of equiptment and would easily be the best choice for someone starting out on bass. Its great for your room,a garage band, or even jamming on stage. The only problem i faced was the bridge was kinda annoying with the "string thru" style and the strings that came with it are crap.

I bought gsr 200 today in Bangor North Wales, I forget the name of the shop. I was looking for a second hand bass,maybe a squier kinda thing. The assistant mentioned that he had 20% off new guitars, namley the ibanez "gio" as its now called. It was going for £165.......sounded like a bargain!

Ive been a fan of PJ bass for ages, I liked immediatley the quality of the finish,and soundness of the construction. Theres a heck of alot more to this bass, if your thinking about buying a squier precision, DEFINATLEY give the GSR 200 some thought!!
The sound is great, the weight, and the overall style(and value for money!!)

Ive got it sat next to me,Ive been putting it through a laney 120B,I have no complaints!!!

its all good,this is a well presented guitar, all the other people who have reviewed the bass are totally spot on their review of this!,if your stuck between buying this and a squier, buy this!!.

I paid 158 dollars for this bass used on ebay. My friends and I were going to start a band and i had played bass' before but didnt have my own. This is a great starter bass or a good inexpensive intermediate bass.

This bass has good sound, even on a regular guitar amp. The pickups are good and powerful and i like the individual volume knobs for each pickup. I also like the thin neck of this bass.

There is a little buzzing on the bass, but this could be due to the fact that im using it on a regular guitar amp.

Construction is very sturdy and the bass has good quality.

This is a excillent starter bass and i would recomend this bass to anyone who is just beggining bass or anyone on a tight budget.

I bought this bass at Guitar Center on sale for $179

Well, i just got this bass. Me and a friend were going to guitar center and we were going to mess around with some expensive basses. well, that got boring, so i picked up a cheap bass with a p/j configuration (something i was lookin for). i plugged it straight into a crate bfx 100-t, and it sounded soo good. it sounded like an active bass, which i want, but can't afford. another good thing is that the tone control has a huge range. Mine is red, and it has a cool see-thru finish that i love. i also like it because it has a straight bolt on neck with no neckplate. it is also very light and has great action and a nice thin neck.

well, theres a little fret buzz, that seems about it.

It seems very well built. everything seems solid.

I think this is an awesome bass. I'm in a band, and already have a Fender Mexican P-bass which is okay, but i just wanted something with a P/J configuration and a little more versatility and definately a thinner neck. The Ibanez was great.

I bought this lil' axe from Guitar Center for $110

It looks great, and takes hits from the hardwood floor great!2 pickups nice rosewood neck. really really nice strings. easy to tune, and nice sound even when unamped. Another great bass from Ibanez, and I can't put the damn thing down!

Like I said, this thing does not wanna sit down on the stand, but it always stays in my hands! The strap falls off the holster alot, and it requires very percise tunning. I have no sound problems with this unit what so ever.

I dropped it enough times, and it still stands stong. The guys at guitar center need to tighten some things, but it still plays! The only consturction problem was the a string popping off the first time I tunned it. Also, its a bit heavy on my shoulders, but it isn't to bad. The guy @ guitar center wasn't lying; this bass is strong.

The bottom line is: if you want a cheap good beggeing bass, Ibanez GSR200 is for you. It can sound beefy, or light and is the best guitar to learn on. For the price you get a lotta guitar. A definite must buy for any1 serious about getting into the best style of guitar: bass!

I bought it a guitarcenter store in San Diego for 230$, i was looking for a good beginner Bass...

This Bass is extremely well done for its price range, you can play around with the combinations of the J and P pickups for any sound you're looking for...

is very light and what i think is the best of the bass is the fast and slim neck, and is very comfortable to...

the only problems i have with this unit is that the truss rod have to be adjusted constantly, it changes really fast whit the weather, but if you have a couple of allen keys tis easy to fix...

also, after almost 3 years of constantly rough use (I'm in a rock band and I jump and move violently with the bass hanging to my knees) the screw that holds the strap fall off, but after fixing it and whit the strap taped to the bass body really tight im jumpin' around the stage again...

its very well constructed except for the little problems described above...

look, if you're on a budget looking for bass under the 350$ this is the one for you, it's way better than the similar rogue model...

I bought mine from Musician's Friend for $200



When i bought this bass, I was not very educated about quality, tone, or anything that makes a guitar good. I consider myself very lucky. This is a great guitar. The construction quality is great. I have no complaints. Not one thing has happened that upset me. I love the neck of this guitar. It is thin and this allows you to play many different styles of music. The bass itself is also very versitile. You can adjust your sound to many different styles of music. Once I changed the crappy factory strings I ould play any style of music I want. Punk, rock, funk. About a month after I bought this bass I went to my local music store and tryed just about every single bass there. It was much better than any bass that had a price around $200, but not too cloce to the quality of a $500 or above bass. Still, for $200 dollars I would say this about the best beginning bass anyone could want. If you are just starting to play this is a bass for you, but even if you are an intermediate player on a budget you will like this guitar.

This guitar has great construction compared to any other guitars near its price range. The bolts are tight, the finish is even and bright. Overall this bass has very good quality.



I like this guitar. It has good constuction, it looks nice, and plays very well. This guitar is for begining and intermediate bass player. I also think that it won "Best Bass" from Musician's Friend, but don't hold me to that.

Made in Indonesia, I think it's the only important point, which governs the price and quality of the whole.

UTILIZATION

Low with excellent grip. The handle is quite nice, except I think has the access to acute or we must finally break up the wrist to get the note.
The shape and color are really beautiful, even if the body lacks a little personality in the end we are left with a beautiful instrument.
on the other hand, potentiometers that do not actually act as equalizer, it is quickly bored, and eventually, out of spite, just put a bottom.

SOUNDS

Sound level ... We are still in the very low end. The preamp is all the same feeling when playing in the bass, the sound is very round and at the same time quite metal, making it a good bass for the alternative rock or punk rock.
I play with a simple Hartke B150, simple and effective, and frankly, to start I think it's the perfect combo. We do not have settings to do just the volume, and has little directly to the point. If you are looking for a bass without the fuss, I think you found it.
But his level, nothing really folichon, friendly enough bass, but treble lacking, but what do you want for that price, it was not a Stingray.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 2 years now, she never fails, it's my first bass, and it is downright brilliant in this role. Everything is in extremely simple, and when it starts, no attempt is necessarily making direct head with sound.

What I love is all about usability, and simplicity.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year and it is time for me to change it because I play in a group of trs good (with the good stuff) and I am a 5th string of great value .
For less than 300euros is the solution of the beginning and especially Alernative to sub-brands that simply copying.
A buy without hsiter for DBiT with this budget and wanting to test all types of sound.
