This is the Lakland Skyline Darrl Jones 4 string color lake placid. Made in Korea.
It has 21 frets, 2 passive pickups JB-styles.
3 settings: 1 microphone, tone, the second microphone.
the neck is maple with rosewood fingerboard
Clean finish, no bad thing when this one or the basic settings of the instrument.
Purchased in 1369 euros in April 2009.

UTILIZATION

The handle is very comfortable to play. It allows high speed access to gambling is really aisé.La acute form is that of a classic jazz bass, nothing new on that side. But why not take what works ?
The basic sound is really excellent. The worthy jazz bass sound, well rounded but very clear. Lovers of jazz bass sounds (Pastorius, ...) will appreciate greatly.
Because it is a passive settings are limited, but the basic sound, and playing on the 2 pickups or the tone, gives a really good sound.
For the slap, it is also perfect vraiemnt. High accuracy and speed of play more good slap sound old-tradition (year 70) for those who love

SOUNDS

I use it for jazz, Latin and rock. It adapts well to all styles of music.
I use a Hartke amp, or a Genz-Benz (or various other live or in rehearsal) and without effect. If I choose bass passive, pure sound for bass and not the sound of any electronics.
She has really nice rounded sound of jazz bass (you can almost hear a fretless). Its really short, a warm
Slap in a good year 70's good, but sounds really good

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a little over a month intensively.
In addition to this low, I keep a Fender American Standard Precision 2008, which I love also. The 2 allow me to have a palette of his (her rounder, or more punchy) that satisfies me 100%
THE value of the Lakland is really good given the quality of the instrument.
I had a lot of other basses before this one, my favorite so far was the Yamaha ATT LTD II.
But between this and the fender Lakland, I think I made the best choice for my game, I would do without choice AuSn doubt. This Lakland offers playability and sound that is hard to do without
