«  For the piano sound and look »

Published on 07/24/10 at 15:23
Value For Money : Correct
How many octaves?
88 keys

How many sounds, effects available?
306 sounds (but what's the point on a piano), reverb, 3 band equalizer

What connection (Audio, MIDI pedals ...)
Complete connectivity: input / output audio jack 6.5 mm (which is rare on a digital piano), MIDI In / Out, 3 pedals, 2 assignable as example to start or stop the sequencer, or to modulate the second volume of his in layer (fun for tablecloths)

UTILIZATION

The touch keyboard is it nice? Should your use?
For comparison with the Yamaha Arius YDP 161, CLP320, Kawai CN22 on, I think the F110 is the lightest keyboard. But it is very correct when, like me, you just typed a master keyboard synth like the old A33.
To stay at Roland FP4 is better than that but less FP7.

The general configuration is simple?
There are 65 classic tracks in memory. Each song is recorded on 3 tracks: support, left hand, right hand. It is possible to disable the track that you want to play by example instead. I find this feature very useful for learning. Especially since most pieces are found in the book of sheet music (60 total)
In general I find the ergonomics well thought despite the small LED display and few buttons.
The layer and split functions are easily accessible during a song.
The manual is clear and sufficient?
Perfect!

SOUNDS

The sounds they are suitable to your style of music?
I find the piano sound really good by default. It's better than a Yamaha or Kawai in this price range.
on the other hand must really listen avoid amplification of the piano. On my Mackie MR8 or with a good headset is perfect.

I also love the electric piano and pop "Rich Strings.
Other sounds may help, but nothing more.

OVERALL OPINION

For how long have you been using it?
1 month

What thing do you like most/least about it?
Most: the sound of the piano for this price, the look (I blank)
Minimum: a little light touch

Did you try many other models before getting this one?
Yes: CN22 Kawai, Yamaha YDP 161 / CLP320, Roland FP4/FP7/RP201 (the same as the F110, only the cabinet changes)

What is your opinion about the value for the price?
Correct

Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice?
Yes, certainly
