1 Scarlett 2i2 USB interface resets every few minutes
I don't know if this is a Focusrite issue or a Windows10 issue, but:

Environment:

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (1st gen)
Windows 10 Pro (v 1903, build 18362.535)
Focusrite Driver: 4.63.24.564

Problem:

Every few minutes (as frequently as two minutes, as infrequently as an hour?), my speakers go "kathump", the music stops, I get a "Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (1st gen)" growl-style announcement, and my Pandora feed skips to the next song.

It appears that the USB connection is getting interrupted or falling off for some reason. Is this a known problem? And if so, is there a known fix?

Hmm...I may have solved this already. On the advice of

https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/how-to-install-focusrite-usb-drivers-on-windows/

I've disabled the "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" feature and (so far) have not had any more Ka-thumps. Fingers crossed.

Nope - I spoke too soon. Still getting Ka-Thumps.

Suggestions and solutions are welcome!

More information. I caught an event on the Windows10 Event Viewer that correlated with the USB connection being dropped:

Quote:

This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

Does any one know how to interpret this?

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver? That stopped the recycling problem for me.
