A stout good solid pedal distortion made in Russia! Mine is 2002.
It is true bypass (signal passes when playing without battery or without power supply), I have not spent hours compared the raw signal and bypass the pedal, but I have the impression that there loses a little, so I think to buy a loop box, but it can be means of improving something in the pedal so that the signal passes better.
Otherwise, it's good old analog. No outlet, there is only a 9v battery compartment.

I plugged mine on my PSU Big John Cioks, taking a cable "clip on" flex, ie with a 9v battery cap. I read on the net that it could generate a buzz embarrassing, but in my case it is not. However, the audio is different subsector, worse than a pile in my more "right" and less "fuzzy". It is possible that a low-end power supply problems we have buzz, so the quality of Big John protects at least this problem.

UTILIZATION

No need to book, it's like the classic big muff: a knob for volume, sustain (distortion) and a tone. It is marked on the box, but the "input" and "output" are reversed, so do not plug it mechanically without looking! Other than that, nothing surprising.

SOUND QUALITY

Ouuuyeah!
Good already, let's say the most important, for me it is very different from the usa release. It is less fuzzy, less gain, but it still stands a classic distortion.
Second, this pedal has a potato egg. I took a boost pedal, I wonder if I'll often use this pedal with lol! Is the volume reserve, the gain is very heavy!
I would say it is a little less dull and more aggressive than his American colleague. But I play a Crate BV120, an amp that is already aggressive, and this pedal does add not too much, especially since as the Big Muff us, the tone knob is very responsive, and very helpful.

To clarify one thing, however: according to your settings, if you plug in the pots that are fiddling pedal, you can find its sucks, not just dirty, but with hot frequencies. In my case, it forced me to redefine my amp settings to find what suited me: I feel that this pedal does not like it adds mediums.

OVERALL OPINION

In summary, I am very happy. I has the big muff us (current edition), and I would not say I prefer one over the other, but it is clear that they are different, it is not to do the same thing. In any case, I use a doom / stoner register, and I find my account in 2 cases. The Big Muff Russian may be a little less "typical", and I'd rather can be a bit more for doom, and the U.S. version for the stoner.
Anyway, a value. I repeat: in absolute terms, no problem to put the mains when the material is appropriate: take a power supply quality and battery adapter cable that has cost me 3 euros that is safe, reliable, bespoke for such use. on the other hand, it really changes something about the sound reproduction. Then I think it consumes less than 5 mA, so it should not be ruined battery level, I think I privilégierai this option. But it's still annoying not being able to get rid of batteries!
Another downside, alteration of the signal even if it is true bypass. may be that it is not original on my foot and it was done wrong ...
