We announced it yesterday, Waldorf debuts in the modular Eurorack world with the NW1 wavetable generator.

The Waldorf NW1 employs an advanced wavetable engine with independent controls for spectral envelope and noise, just like what you can find on the virtual Nave synth. Waldorf included the wavetables from the Microwave and Wave synths but you can also create your own tables from any audio source or by using the built-in vocal synth, which will translate text into wavetables.

The module features a cyclic scan system for the wavetables with travel speed modulation, position, spectrum and periodicity options.

Connexions include a Gate input to trigger the wavetable travel and record, a main 1V/oct input to control the pitch, 3 additional CV inputs for real time wavetable modulation and recording, an audio output and an isolated USB port to transfer the wavetables and enter text for the vocal synth.

A 2×7 segment display is also included and all this fits into a 32HP Eurorack module.

The NW1 will be available during Q2, 2015 for the price of 329 €. Details are online at www.waldorf-music.info.
