Source Audio will launch this month two new effect pedals for guitar in the One series, the Mercury Flanger and the L.A. Lady Overdrive.
Just like the other pedals in the One Series introduced at Winter NAMM this year (namely Vertigo Tremolo, Lunar Phaser, Gemini Chorus and Kingmaker Fuzz), the new Mercury Flanger and L.A. Lady Overdrive are completed with the Neuro software/iOS app that completes the available controls and gives users the opportunity to download free presets.
The pedals are equipped with a USB port for firmware update and access to the Neuro software. MIDI is also onboard to store up to 128 presets, connect up to 5 One and Soundblox 2 pedals to the Neuro Hub and create up to 128 multi-pedal scenes that can be recalled via MIDI program change messages. The Neuro Hub can also receive an expression pedal (Source Audio’s or third parties’) or the Hot Hand 3 wireless controller to control any variable parameter on the pedal.
The L.A. Lady Overdrive is a versatile stereo effect (two inputs and outputs) that offers three modes: Classic will remind you of the Marshall sound, Smooth has more body and saturation, as it can be heard on Mesa Boogie amps, and Crunch is warmer with a great level of drive.
The pedal features four knobs to adjust the overdrive, level, bass and treble, and with the Neuro app, you’ll get additional overdrive, fuzz and distortion algorithms, as well as advanced EQ features.
The Mercury Flanger offers a stereo effect with three modes also: Classic for a deep and « dramatic » effect as head during the early years of the flanger effect ; Thru-Zero (or Tape Flange) that reproduces the effect generated when dry and modulated signals reach their intersection point ; and Shadow for a resonant and smooth effect with the famous « whoosh ». The Neuro app completes the Depth, Speed, Resonance and Delay controls with phaser, flanger and chorus algorithms.
