«  Wah my favorite, especially for rock »

Published on 02/27/14 at 05:46
This is a wah that I bought from its owner who had for 30 years, including 20 in his garage ... Suffice to say that the potentiometer does not have 30 minutes of play after a change in the potentiometer a "Icar" which are very good, since the wah works perfectly.
It is a model with the original fasel red.

UTILIZATION

Not much to say about it, apart from the fact that running and config is very close to a dunlop crybaby or a vox as we know them today.

On my model I have a weird power supply for the record, I have not tested but it looks like the mini jack plugs of EHX. It can easily change, otherwise enlarge the hole in the frame to set the standard DC plug (Boss-type).

SOUND QUALITY

I tested and has a lot of wahs, vintage Colorsound, Maestro Boomerang, Schaller, crybaby, vox changed ... I even exchanged for this wah double Jen sound that incorporates a fuzz: I quickly retrieve the mine because of the double fuzz the race was too short for my taste and less pronounced wah effect even if the fuzz is.

In short, this is a great wah, which produces a slight boost when switched on, we need to know (at least on mine). It is also rich in mediums, which, especially saturated, makes a dirty and nervous that I love her. Perfect for yelling at a solo or for grimey casseroles.

I use it on telecaster, but double is perfect too.

OVERALL OPINION

Of all the wah I have, is one that is constantly on my pedal board. It is for my rock band.

But also being a fan of funk, I appreciate the Colorsound for his big race and beach very appreciable frequencies in the clear, even if not easy to tame at first. The Meastro is a killer for plans grimey way or Son of Shaft Shaft on a clear sound or slightly crunch, but it's too dirty saturation.

Much richer than crybaby classic and organic, if you are not bothered by the slight boost effect (which must be resolved by adding a resistor in output), it is a wah test without waiting!
