My Epiphone Riviera was manufactured in Korea by Peerless in 2004.
The bridge has been changed by the previous owner for a Bigsby B7, which makes the look much better!
She has 22 frets, and the pickups are simple Epiphone alnico I'm about to change, I'll post here the ones I would have chosen!
There are two tone knobs and two volume pots, and there is a micro switch 3 tones like on a 335 Es.
The violin is very good!
UTILIZATION
The handle is rather nice! I also have a Telecaster US Std 2011, and I must say that there is much more space on the Riviera. I do not prefer to move in weight because the Bigsby is heavy, distorting the common weight, so it looks a bit, but I chose!
In terms of access to acute, it is relatively comfortable, although the cutaway leaves a space problem for the hand when want to go high.
Honestly, I intend to change the pickups because I think the original ones a little too loud for the bridge pickup, and the handle has no media. This is for me the major flaw of this guitar. After that, maybe with a preamp for each pickup ...
However, when we drive a bit much, it sounds the fire of God!
SOUNDS
The taste of her I like a lot to go on solo bluesy style, but the thing with the bridge pickup is playing Oasis! Sing a Champagne Supernova with a good distorted sound (with a Vox AC30), close your eyes, it's like a Wembley playing on the Epiphone Flag of the United Kingdom!
The sound is generally quite fatty.
I really like the bridge pickup when well saturated.
OVERALL OPINION
It's been a me that I received my Riviera. I ordered on the Internet (I admit) in Texas because it did not was expensive and I do not keep counted as I am in the USA for one year. The guy does not sell expensive because there was a lot of work to do it: electronics, setting jumpers, mechanical change .... Anyway, I think I made a small case that will go with me to France!
I absolutely love her look! It sends pathée!
