PhasX debuted at Summer NAMM 2014 with the new Shadowcaster monitoring system with included sound card.

Two models were introduced at the PhasX booth in Nashville, the PX600 and PX300. Both are comprising two powered and DSP-controlled two-way monitors, a subwoofer, a 19” 2U rackable sound card and a remote control app. The PX600 is more powerful and bigger than the PX300, the latter being designed for nomad use.

The Shadowcaster design of the monitors allows, according to PhasX, for eliminating reflexions around them, being vibrations and interferences coming from the desktop or in the near field. Plus, you’ll see in the center of each woofer a visual indicator that will help you position the monitors correctly from your listening spot.

The sound card connects to the Mac or PC via XMOS USB and features all the analog and digital I/Os you need (balanced and unbalanced XLR, jacks and RCA, AES/EBU, TosLink, ADAT, AES2, Worldclock, audio USB).

PhasX says that the signal is fully digital from the computer to the monitors, so there is no converter in the signal path. Maximum audio resolution is 24-bit / 192kHz and they chose the K-metering system.

The PX sound cards can also be remotely monitored and controlled via an app that will display output levels, clipping and more.

The PhasX monitoring systems will be available at the end of the year in multiple colors. Pricing announced is $4999 for the PX600 and $2499 for the PX300. Visit phasx.com for more.
