Thread Static while recording??

I'm very new to recording at home. I bought a focusrite scarlett 2i2 studio set up and no matter what program I use to record I get a static noise when I'm speaking/singing every time I record. If I'm recording, when I'm silent there's no static but whenever I talk it starts to get statiky. Anybody know what the problem is? It's driving me nuts especially now when there's nothing else to do besides record music.

I have the 2i2 3rd gen studio bundle, which I replaced the Saffire 6 usb 2.
I am using either the mic it came with or a Rode nt1a, I too am getting this weird static sound, almost like an electricy sound?
Any help would be great as its basically rendering this sound card useless.
