I chose this card to finally pass something srieux in terms of sound recording and bnficier a "real" sound card.
MODEL chosen: DSP24 Value + I / O Bracket (S / PDIF + MIDI)
24bit/96kHz card, GSIF, Multiclient, ASIO, MME, trs low latency (5 ms), audio circuit "multimedia" AC97 indpendant (2 compltement indpendantes sound cards on the same PCB . ^ o ^! very practical in some cases. Ex: soft as a Winfast DVD player does not work with the 24bit system. Without the AC97 audio circuit, I could not play a DVD which refused to be read decompression on my card + DVD Hollywood.)

Config: Celeron 1.2Ghz, ASUS TUSL2C, 512MB RAM.

Use DSP24 with Logic (supplied with the card), Acid Music 3.0, Soundforge 4.5, and all under Win98SE.

UTILIZATION

Installation is simple enough, but it should not be "fun" to change the driver and follow the flies properly Hoontech instructions (which provides a small software uninstalled, practice).
Dj installs in 98SE/2K/XP, no significant problem, updates from drivers who have achieved a true stability in the majority of applications.

on the other hand, big problem with W2K-SP3-. Not working properly and it must remain in SP2 (official info STAUDIO). Li SP3 problem.

Otherwise, the config is pretty simple. The panel of new drivers is simple and pro for the initiate. Slightly less for beginners who seek a little information in a doc just average ...

GETTING STARTED

WDM drivers n'taient clearly not stable, and posed problem in XP (crash, latency standard clicks of any kind, and malfunction of the circuit ... AC97)

compltement rsolu current version (as of 1/27/03)

I often use Logic Audio, and latency reaches trs rarely 5ms promised. But it is perfectly usable and acceptable ... (Adpend bcp too much to venture encrypt) ...

OVERALL OPINION

Been using it for a year and a half.
Excellent map. Same circuit as the audio audiophile 2496 (chip ICE).
Prcises low trs, for acute and prcis (especially bit/44.1khz 16), and large image Stereo Retailer.
Design really pro (well real capacitors ...) that inspires confidence.
Bundled software INTERESTED (Logic DSP24, even if we waited a bit more ...)

Breath trs low (as much as my JV1080 level expander gal), trs flexible to use.

If my budget had allowed me, I took an audiophile 2496 for ct "good reputable", but I do not regret the DSP24 Value is a good map trs.

Support / forum STAUDIO is good, with two permanent technicians and patients really familiar with their products.
