Gibson announces at Summer NAMM 2013 a limited edition of the first Jumbo acoustic guitar created by the manufacturer in 1934.

Called 1934 Original Jumbo, the reissue guitar is based on the instrument found in Gary Burnett’s personal collection. According to Gibson, the sound of the guitar is warm, with smooth mids that were typical on the Gibson 1930s guitars.

The guitar features a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, Dovetail set-in neck with period correct V-shape, string spacing, internal bracing and Vintage Sunburst finish (brown on top and red on back and sides) with a cream binding. The Gibson logo on the headstock is also original.

Only 100 guitars will be available worldwide, price and availability are still to be announced.
