Gibson J-100 Xtra Centennial

UTILIZATION

When purchasing this guitar was an action worthy of a piano keys which made the game very difficult. After adjusting nut and sanding ... This became a shoe. The frets are very thin and are hardly noticeable to the touch.

Access to acute side let's be clear, it has a better type "jumbo" large round body and no cutaway so restricted, I have personal small hands and I is that access to the 17 th freight

MODEL Jumbo, 20 frets. Spruce top, bottom and fishplates Saddle ond superb round with Rosewood Saddle Flamm repres typs "crown inlays" A veritable pearl MOP. Easel whiskers. No pickguard. Gibson logo inlaid in pearl on the head, not in painting.
Micro: Fishman sensor. No rglages Vol / tone. This is pure acoustic sensor with a point.
Channel end, typical LP '60.

UTILIZATION

Handle very pleasant, low action, frets nickel finish, easy game.
Accs limited to acute, obviously. Plans ARPG box are 15th in freestyle.
Shape: it's jumbo, so impressive body, but that does not hinder me because my size allows me (1.92 m). I'm very comfortable with it. The weight is surprising: it's all solid, but compared to Japanese Lger plate I've used up presents. Lutherie irreproachable.
The sound: low standards but not messy, but not aggressive crystalline highs, mediums presents discreetly. All very well balanced and ragit attack. If you play soft, ARPG the sound is clean, well detaches notes, and with reduced power. But as soon as you open a chord a little more schement: then the .... sounded very good and VERY strong. Same again amplified. In short, if you do not sound good:
1 - change the strings, it must be too old ...
2 - otherwise it is because of your game

This is THE guitar I needed! This is exactly the sound I rvais years. APRS is a history of taste. I thought that everything would be aggressive in the Saddle acute over a mahogany body and rosewood. And not at all not just a lot more aggressiveness dynamics. I compared with Hummingbird True Vintage (mahogany body), and I found "fade" over the J100. This much, the Hummingbird is a very good guitar. Again, everyone's tastes.
The J100, it can play finger-picking, or flat-picking only the dynamics change. It is ideal for open chords, which make it breathe with sustain that goes on. The Blues it goes well, the Folk-song, .... short we can all address the same Bossa.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought two weeks ago. What I like most: .... difficult, the song is the plumage. The sound is royal, the harmonics out of themselves. What I like least: .... when it is largest in its flight case!
I've tried other models? Yes, for 25 years, Yams, Ovation, Martin, Norman (one EXCELLENT B18, but we need to try several to find the right one, Ingal production), Fender, and a lot of Japanese of all levels in '80s.
Quality price ratio: is new is CHRE (2700 2950 $ to U.S., and 2400 / 2700 in Europe about the finish but this is understandable, given the quality. It still exists, but with taken from key exchange (points) On occasion I made a great deal.
