stay clear of digital deck covers (Digital Deck Covers - Covers)

By spokenwar, 22/01/2015
stay away. digital deck covers won't read the request written on the order. sent me $150 of the wrong thing. i contacted them. i got a litany of how i was at fault. I requested the style that matched the item i had bought from them before. they didn't write me to verify the order. they certainly didn't call me (maybe they don't have phones...). They sure had time to write a protracted email telling me how wrong i was and how right they are.

here's the funny thing. what i requested (that matched my current cover) was much more expensive than what they sent me.

as for the items they sent, they are poor quality and instead of keeping dust out, the cotton they use creates dust.

I think they are inflexible and i will never use them again.

Update -

I have used the covers they sent me for a few months now. The expensive one i bought for my Prophet 12 (DAVE SMITH INSTRUMENTS PROPHET 12 KEYBOARD (Fabric: 2 Sided Qtd Blk Nylon (+$9.00)) ) is a good cover. The corners are sturdy and it "seals" the unit. Here in Denver (where the dust is really thick) this cover does a good job keeping the dust out.

The ones they send me for my Bass Station II, Dave Smith Tempest, Tascam DP-24, and Alesis Micron are horrible. They are like an old sock. Not that they fit well to begin with (they didn't), they have gotten worse. The really bad thing is they don't keep out dust and dirt. I put my Bass Station aside for about 3 weeks. I looked at it tonight and it was filthy. I also think the material has dust of it's own.

I spent almost $200 USD and really am not happy.

SKB, best case around (SKB - Flight Case Clavier 76)

By tradcab, 09/05/2017
I use this when on the road and it takes all the punishment it is given. Yes they are expensive new but so are the keyboard it protects. I have not come across anything better to house my piano in to date. I do use velcro straps with a handle arrangement as extra lifting points but I do this on all my keyboard cases.

Gator piano case , nearly the best. (Gator Cases - GK-288)

By tradcab, 09/05/2017
Use this for a very heavy RD700 NX. Takes the knocks of road use but although I am reasonably happy with it there are some slight irritations . The case can flex a little when closing and the catches need to be just right to line up. Not a major problem but annoying. My SKB case does not behave this way. The good part is the cost compared to the SKB ,which is a bit like Nord Pianos, good but over priced.
Getting back to the Gator, it has lasted me 2 years, about 200 gigs worth, still intact and doing its job . Easier to handle than a purpose built flight case which is almost impossible to lift with the Rd inside.
