Keyboard Arranger from Yamaha belonging to the Tyros series

Following the 20+ videos posted yesterday, Yamaha now announces the detail of the new version of its Tyros arranger keyboard.

The first new is that the Tyros 5 is now available in two 61 and 76-key versions with a new chrome look. Each version features more than 300 new voices, for which Yamaha retains the Super Articulation 2 sound technology, but you’ll now find new Ensemble (brass and strings) sounds for which the keyboard will automatically choose the appropriate instrument according to the played note.

You’ll also find an new Organ World section with 5 organ types ranging from classical grand to jazz, each with its own harmonic drawbars and effect controls.

The Styles have also been enhanced, with new Audio Styles based on sampling and real instrument recordings, and rhythm tracks played by real drummers (no programming used).

Last the DSP effect processors have been improved and thanks to the VCM technology, amp and stompbox modeling now allows for complete change of the sound of an instrument.

Regarding the control of the keyboard, the Tyros 5 offers a new Split function that allows for driving the Styles with the right hand.

 

Just like the previous versions, the Tyros 5 features audio recorder, MP3 playback, time stretcher and pitch shifter, a crossfader, pitch and modulation wheels, a large 7.5" LCD color display with multilingual support, metronome, transposition, scale presets, voice cancel feature as well as an effect section with reverb, chorus, compressor, EQ, vocal harmonizer and vocoder, noise gate and more.

The connection panel includes inputs for sustain, articulation and volume pedals, a microphone input, two MIDI inputs and outputs, stereo auxiliary inputs, stereo and sub outputs, 2 USB 2.0 “To Device” and one “To Host” ports and a headphone output. A USB wireless LAN adapter is available is selected countries.

EU pricing announced by Yamaha is 4363€ Incl. VAT for the Tyros5 61 keys (4712€ with the TRS-MS05 amplification system) and 4594€ incl. VAT for the 76-key version (4958€ with the TRS-MS05). The keyboards will be available in December. Full details are available at uk.yamaha.com.
