Installing Sony Acid Pro 7 is extremely simple but it is unpleasant to have to install the extentions. NET or Microsoft SQL to run the Media Manager, which incidentally should be avoided as it eats resources and is slow. Organized rather your samples or sounds clearly in your Windows folders, here goes faster!

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Can blame Sony for an exclusive policy, however the Windows software from the source is fully integrated with the Windows world in terms of development. The offer on the Mac is not commercially interesting for them.

For my part, Sony Acid was interfaced MAUDIO, Edirol and RME met without any worries. I use Acid

OVERALL OPINION

from there. I also use other suites such as Sound Forge and Vegas are formidable simplicity and efficiency.

Acid Pro I used to carry all my albums from the inception to mastering. Acid Pro is widely underestimated although many criticisms can be brought against him.

Most
Extreme simplicity
Fully compatible with all VST and DirectX conceivable (effects & synths)
Creation and management system of loops remains unbeatable
Management automation super simple
Creating effective super fast tracks to mastering
Export flawless until 24/192, managing multitrack and 5.1
Management 5.1 really super simple and very compelling especially for video editing

The -
A windowing system interesting, but it is imperative a large screen 24 inches or more
The software still crashes but often for reasons to use freeware plugin
The ergonomics could be improved as much as the look that is "cheap"
Do not offer a MIDI management thrust (quantize very limited, no duplicate management noon, no writ arpegiatteur ...), Acid are used in midi but is devilishly limited to work that grows
Timestretching that has aged even with the addition of Elastic Pro clean well, Sony could have worked this part of the baby but in general it is clear that Sony does business on this app since the acquisition of Sonic Foundry.
