«  Ideal for my use »

Published on 01/15/11 at 03:05
It is a USB / MIDI interface with 2 midi in / out available.

CAUTION because an interface is plug and socket in the other (and also with shorter cables), but with midi cable standard male / male it does not pose a problem.

I was looking for an interface not too expensive to connect my 2 Midi keyboards on my PC.

I use it with my PC running Windows Vista to connect him my various synths.
I used it for updates bones of synth sounds in the transfer and piloting sysex midi expander.

UTILIZATION

Under Vista, there are no drivers to install. the interface is recognized directly in all the software I use (pro tools, ableton, reason and midiox and some standalone instruments).

I have not had a bug with any of my logociels.

OVERALL OPINION

I use for 6 months.
I had no problem in using the software, even using both interfaces. I drove my example TG77 connected on one side with my novation shuttered on the other interface.
I use it fairly casual, but for my purposes I am fully satisfied.

I bought 28 euro on thomann. it's really cheap and for that price you have 2 midi ports.

Before I used the midi interface on my shit like that Mbox2 not possible to update the OS. I also have a m-audio midi interface that works a lot but is also larger level size.

to summarize:

+ Price
+ Size the box is really tiny
+ Free installation driver vista
+ Reliability

- The socket and the length of the cable to the second port (midi cable has forecast)
- Identification of ports: at the beginning you wonder which is the port where the one and two. in fact it says on the sockets.
- The size, the box is so small that it often wanders.

negative points are really light. it's still a very good interface with a value for money unbeatable.
IF I will search in an interface with 2 ports I remake that choice without hesitation.
