The cable features PVC material combining "ruggedness with extreme flexibility", which lies flat without kinking when laid out or installed, the company says.
The 0.22mm² conductor cross-section and capacitance of 95pF/m are designed to ensure good audio characteristics. Numbered pair jackets are designed to simplify cable assembly and do away with the need for additional labelling.
Klotz says the new-generation PolyWIRE uses cross-linked polyethylene conductor insulation, which they say largely eliminates shrinking during the soldering process.
This is designed to prevent any danger of short-circuiting in wires which might otherwise be exposed by the high temperatures and longer soldering time required by lead-free soldering processes.
