Bought from Academy of Sound in Glasgow, Scotland for GBP349. I tried quite a few basses and was generally impressed with the Yamaha's. Five string was a bit of a whim!

I am just a beginner, but the BB605 is easy to play. The set up wasn't great from new, but my teacher soon had it sorted and now its great to play. The finish is wonderfull, mine is the wine-red. I wasn't too happy about the gold hardware but it has grown on me and does suit the deep red colour. The active electronics give plenty of scope for adjustment.

Not much. BUT.... be carefull, some advertisements imply that the BB605 has the NE1 Parametric EQ electronics - IT DOES NOT! Only the VERY expensive Nathan East model...…

Not much. BUT.... be carefull, some advertisements imply that the BB605 has the NE1 Parametric EQ electronics - IT DOES NOT! Only the VERY expensive Nathan East model (BB-EAST) has this facility. The BB605 (and BB604) are much simpler, with only a switchable (on/off) mid boost/cut control. There isn't anything wrong with what's provided for the money but it ain't parametric!!! The B string is a bit tricky to get the action and intonation right - mine is still a bit buzzy.

Simply excellent. The bass is very nice indeed with great attention to detail. I am very pleased with it.

A very nice instrument - recommended.

The volume control is a little on / off.Il increases rapidly early in the race, which is a bit annoying when you want to change it for a song, or when you find the right setting in rehearsal, we cup to drink all his beer and we took over the rehearsal. was struggling to regain his niveau.Donc it is thoroughly and after I set my volume pedal or amp, even if the BXR 300 is so powerful that I rarely exceeds 2 and the fine adjustment of volume is also a must!

UTILIZATION

Channel pleasant, with a good grip in a wide main.Plus Ibanez but helps keep your whole hand, rock'n'roll atmosphere, feeling rather good instrument vibrer.Vernis agréable.Préférant the top of the handle and big bass notes well access to acute I do not have much of a problem ... If the sound is very round and if we go there.
Average weight, after 4 hours of rehearsal you can feel the weight of the beast, but not excessive.
The tuners hold tuning well, even in soft case.
It is solid and reliable.

SOUNDS

The sound is pretty good, not too typical, which can be an advantage or a inconvénient.tout depend on his amp, pedals used, or a preamp, which allows you to play all styles and adjust itself his or her own.
It sounds rather low and it takes a lot of mid and treble to get out of the mix.
With a set of nine chord and the right amp setting you get something very decent for this price range.
I play on BXR 300 and I added a Boss GEB-7 and it sounds pretty good.

OVERALL OPINION

Using it for a few months I am very happy.
This is my first 5 string and this low IF I scrambled pieces on very heavy or reggae for example.
I think in the medium term to change the pickups for a little boost and to sing a little more.
Quality / price ratio excellent, I would do it without hesitation.
From a Squier and a Jackson (very, even too typical rock 80) I rediscovered the pleasure of playing all styles of music.

<ul> alder body: wood medium, medium weight
24 Frets, Saddle handle, key rosewood
2 x Single Coil Pickups
Eq 1 bass, 1 treble, 1 to balance the pickups and 1 volume
+ 1 EQ button-setting controls with an on / off switch: it is very practical to change his / intensity rapidly eg tapping, harmonic
No more red wine

So 8 / 10 for micro and parametric EQ coming rcuprer setting
</ul>

UTILIZATION

The disparities between the strings is similar to that of a 4, making the handle off.
Access in acute is average.
We get it only sound good with the eq paramtrique activate and the intensity at or near max. The trs output is strong.
The neck and fingerboard are old. The handle...…

The neck and fingerboard are old. The handle adjusts the t dernire time (trust rod to the max).

SOUNDS

I do not play jazz so I am looking for assets and a perfect prsence and DEFINITIONS.
I play on a Behringer and now an Eden WT-400.
Well as in acute and severe. Especially serious.

OVERALL OPINION

<ul> Since 5 years I know the limits.

6 / 10 not to repeat the purchase and move to a CATEGORY suprieur if you intend to use as the first instrument: versatile low average

Body: Alder
Neck: Bolt-on Saddle
Fingerboard: Rosewood, 600mm radius
Frets: 24
Scale: 864mm
Pickups: 2 Single coils
CONTRL: Volume, pickup balance, bass, treble, cut the mdiums with switch on / off
Bridge: Chrome 5 individual bridges

For the price it is a good set!

UTILIZATION

The handle is a bit much (but I think it's because of the 5th string) is dstabilisant to beginners but I'm accustomed to. It slides easily.
CHAC is keen to rev right up to the 21me box but is not really the same for gn dernires Access in 3 boxes.
A suitable weight is all (about 7kg, I find not so heavy a)

SOUNDS

I play mtal mlodique and progressive, she agrees with D'Addario strings and my amp Hartke A100 I get get the sound I want, but its main strength is a versatility: it really fits a large variety of styles (rock, mtal, blues, jazz ...), it on with all the buttons rglages! It is even sometimes difficult to get the sound research, but in the end you'll find it (it's on with a good graphic on qualiseur amp help).
I manage to get a large variety of sound with more bass SETTING THE qualiseur the graphic Hartke.

8 / 10 because it's hard sometimes to find the right sound.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it now for 1 year and 4 months and I apprcit more.
In the beginners I say that bad but my choice silent APRS operating a little low I started really loving it.
This bass is not to be too versatile, the A100 qualiseur graphic Hatke helps me a lot in getting the sound.
For 550 euros, and still less is a good choice to start low. Satisfied.
