OVERALL OPINION

I just tested a vintage model (from the 60's)

I'm very impressed by this old mic! I'm currently at a recording studio in New York and the producer said Amy Winehouse recorded with this mic.

It's very interesting to record drums because when placed correctly this mic can provide a very interesting and vintage overall sound.

The new edition of this model only looks like the original because it's a standard SM58 with a cooler outfit...

You'll find some pretty cheap on ebay... if they still work. I also tested a 55S which was totally worn out.
