The best low priced guitar made. This guitar has the quality and features of an ax 5 times the price.

Pickups suck, spend $150 ASAP. Toss the stock crap.

I have owned guitars that cost 100 times the price of the 75. I am a studio guitarist, and I was looking for a basic lead workhorse. I played 30 guitars before I picked this out. This blows most american guitars away. I had no clue of the price when I picked this up. When the kid at the counter told me I took two of them.

i got the guitar on www.gak.co.uk in june 04' for £190 which was a good prie and cheap delivery. i choose the guitar as it looks good, cheap, good manufacturer, drop d tuner switch and it feels nice to play

i fell in love with this guitar when i saw it in the ibanez catalogue a couple of years back. its got a good sound, look and is well made. the drop d tuner may not look that nice, but its so useful and basically saves a lot of time.

its top heavy and when you play it standing up the neck get lower and lower to the ground which results in wrist ache. the screws to hold in the strap also come very loose so i ended up having to stick a load of match sticks in to hold in place.

FANTASTIC

love this guitar, recomend to all intermediate/damn good guitarists on a tight budget. once you have used it and the drop d tuner, your gonna hate guitars without one

I got this guitar in the winter of 2001, got it out of musicians friend, they have great customer service by the way, and i paid about $220 for it.

First of all i loved the color of the body, its called grey pewter matte, its a nice, not too flash guitar. The body its self also put you in the mind of a Gibson. The action on this guitar is awesome from the nut to the body, never too tall. And the controls on it give you a sepreate tone option for both the neck and brige humbuckers. Also a good touch. Oh yea, the drop d tuner is the most useful thing youll ever use, just flip the swich and it goes perfectly into D.

Its balanceed weird, the neck seems to over weigh the body kinda makeing it a problem too both hold it up, and play it. Recentlly the one of the tone knobs came unglued, making it free spin, and it was hell glueing back in so it would stay, but a 3 year old cheap guitar, i think thats good.

3 years, and this axe is still holding up rather well, the clear coat on the paint where your arm would rest on the body is starting to show wear, but thats just battle scars, ive banged it around alot too, and its shown no hurt what so ever.

Its a good buy, durable, plays good, sounds good, and won't break you up. But the bottem line is how useful a drop D tuner is, once you have one, ull never want one without it. Im 110% satisfied.

I bought this guitar on www.zzounds.com for £120 after a 10% discount so i knew this was a good buy.

I really love this guitar for many reasons. It looks gorgeous. It has the crisp sound on every note. It is almost impossible to make it buzz. It is exactly the same as the acclaimed and brilliant GAX 70 but it has an extra gizmo. It has this really useful down tuner that can get as low as a d or even a c!

There is nothing i don't like except it makes the player want to keep on playing until his fingers bleed!

The only problem i had was when it first arrived i had to tighten almost everything becaause it came pretty loose.

The actual quality is superb for a guitar and with such a small price for so much oomph it is a must buy for everyone from begginers to long time players

-Tight guitar.
-The color is tight
-the bridge is simple and solid
-the neck is thick enough
-the frets are medium, great for rythym and some lead.
-The headstock is accessable.
-downshifter is great for up-tunings as well as down to "d" or "c"!!

-The neck is heavy- combat this with a thick strap that won't slide accross your shoulders- I actually got used to it and I like the heavey neck because I know right where it will be with my left hand when I'm sining.

-The neck humbucker sucks, at least replace that one.

-The top string tuner as hard to adjust.


Great for the price- TIGHTEN everything when you first get it so it doesn't all fall off! - just missing that mama's touch.

I bought my guitar for about $250 from Guitar Center

I like the D-tuner which drops the E string to a D jus by pushing the switch... neck action is good too...

The pickups are on the lame ass side of things... and my friend just bought a squier strat-pack for the same price... and the tone and durability on that kicks the crap outta mine...

Its put together well... and the pewter finish is very cool looking... but it shows dings very easily.

Overall... this is a good beginners guitar... but Im looking for a new one... because this thing has taken its course... and there are other guitars of equal price that are much better...

The first time I saw it in Guitar Center, I fell in love with it. I wasn't sure how much quality it would have being only $249, but a guy I know swears up and down on Ibanez. I liked the feel and I loved the look.

For one, I love the grey pewter color. The gibson style body is my favorite, and the neck has a Fender feel. It has great action. The drop D tuning switch is a very nice touch, although it looked cheaply made, it holds up quite well. And the humbucker pickups are SWEET!


There are only 2 gripes that keep me from giving this guitar a perfect score. One is that the neck feels a little heavier than the body, which makes you want to hold it up at the same time you are playing. If you stand without holding it, the head of the guitar will drop. The other thing is the finish on the body. I do love the color, but the finish is rough, and seems like it could get easily scrached or chipped.

Other than the finish and the neck being a tad on the heavy side, the quality of the guitar is solid. It doesn't seem they took any shortcuts in construction.

This is my favorite guitar by far that I have owned. I do not regret buying it. It plays very good, and plus, it just looks so damn cool!

Ibanez GAX75

D-tune and that is nothing ...

The neck is thin (as often with Ibanez), but it slides is quite cold ... Finally it works well even when.

UTILIZATION

As I said the handle is cold enough, the varnish is 'neutral' for me drang some level feeling, but it's true it will rev well.
Access in acute is not bad at all, it is easily accessible, but there are always better ... If you have a strap that slides attention! the head tilt when loose guitar.

The sound ...
When I got it, I did not play well and level rglage j'tais anywhere. Since I have a little tinkering on it and it sounds! First of all (when I got it) micro taient down 5cm in the body (I DCON but not far). Premire tape up the humbuckers (and I have down to the level of strings on the neck micro etc to do his own sound and microphones for the 'live' and punchent). Deuxime tape on the bridge humbucker n'tait not located parallel to strings (the guitar looking as if they were playing with) which gave a net its not at all => DIY disassembly of a small pice of wood set into the body to maintain the micro (Obviously you should not want to change the height of the microphone every day). Now the sound is pretty good, I use this guitar with a dsormais bottleneck and strings .11 -. 52 (DGDGBD agreement of the severe acute) the only problem to D-tune ... Infact it is useless even in 15min quibble. settle it if we want to spend you fall E D 1 / 2 ct your ... So I DCID to remove ... I admit I was one of the screws rsist a while but ... Then I punched painted (with a miniature painting) that I searched for 1/2heure in a toy store. Until the all is. Thing that follows, normal, you might say I put my custom .11 strings to play with a bottleneck in the trs "...", ok but the thick rope does not pass through the bridge ... So I put the thing to D-tune for the big rope ...

SOUNDS

Bottleneck in Tweed Fender amp with a Vox AC15 or, blues-rock wholesale ...
The sounds are fat and warm (APRS changes explained above). The grain is spcial in clean, bold and very quickly becomes excellent if you push the gain.

At the same time they are humbuckers, so big distos and other overdrives go in without problem.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a long time, but I stopped when I had other guitars, it is only recently that I resort to play the bottleneck, and it works well.
The report price is quite good quality, if we accept to spend time on it, It is not necessary to change the pickups.
To play the bottleneck, I ask nothing better. I do not know if I would do this choice, but it is not bad.

Strengths:
- The handle, slim, fast and does not stick during the gigs you sweat so much o the stress it.
- Weight: you will not have back pain with this guitar, good balance of all when the strap passes.
- I would add color, mouse gray, if not unique ... mat color and therefore no fingerprints, of beer, no scratches, clean it when you do not see the difference, except for dusts.

Weaknesses:
- Its fragility: it does not look strong so watch trs care if it's your guitar Premire.
- No quality wood, we are not far from a wooden crate.
- Imprcision original pickups.

SOUNDS

The microphone is quite aggressive acute in acute and lack of precision, I changed it to a classic, a Seymour Duncan SH-4 since rsolumme problem if they are not 100% of their potential because of poor stringed guitar.

OVERALL OPINION

SOUNDS

Ben's clear I do not know, I have not found a clear button on the application .... in distortion is pretty rough but I Kiet ZK possible the EMG and the big diff ence, the sounds become gniaux especially with the lights of the amp. Basically a great guitar for the great big rock (punk, metal, ...) for cheap in the end of the note or with emg

The sound is clear for use ... on time!

OVERALL OPINION

This is a guitar that I use for RPTES, concerts, she follows me everywhere ... and she is well above the ratio quality price.

I love the cover of this guitar ("Greystone" mat) that I find very good quality. Even if the handle is not very fast next to a series Sabre (but let's be serious price is not the same), it is flat which still allows a certain ease of play wood handle is dry enough, I re-fed once or twice a year he found a beautiful original color.
Contrary to some stress I have no problem balancing (maybe the strap or the fact of playing loud enough ...). UTILIZATION

I bought this guitar on a whim to look.

I do not deny that I was very septic about the use of the famous D-tuner. I thought that in any case if it was not effective, I take it off once in two screwdrivers. But to my surprise this little gizmo is very reliable: it gives "normal" in E will toggle the D-tuner, is given in D by the adjustment screw at the base of D-tuner, and voila (c is slightly longer than that when changing string).
The shape of the guitar is very user friendly compared to a standard RG. Access to acute is simply top.

SOUNDS

The neck pickup sorely lacking record, I never use it so I cut the volume of it.
The bridge pickup comes out good sound in clean although one suspects it is not provided for this purpose. In distortion it is possible to "spit sound fat enough" with a good record in rhythm. For fans of tapping technique or artificial harmonics (or whistled) it will go through a change in the micro to get something more easily as the original ones are unclear.

OVERALL OPINION

In summary, with GAX 75 it was worth its price: a good finish but a sound that, while very good original full, can largely be improved by a change of microphone. For nearly five years since I use it and no complaints.
For a beginner who wants to Ibanez, the great advantage of this guitar is the fixed bridge unlike many Ibanez models mounted Floyd.
So far I have not seen anyone play with this model and it seems to me that it no longer produced. May soon be a collector's model! : D
