«  My first "real" guitar! »

Sterling JP100D occurred in Indonesia (located on the back of the neck), but was sent back to the U.S. to be tested by Musicman. And yes, even produced in Indonesia, Musicman guarantees the quality of the violin!
And in this regard it is flawless:
- Handle end at the head and wider as you approach treble
- 24 frets
- Vibrato Musicman (flexibility)
- DiMarzio Pickups (LiquiFire and Crunchlab)
- Two rubber knobs
- 1 3 position selector placed in a strange way (above knobs)!
- Mechanical locking Spertzel ... I can not do without!
No fault on the violin, it's very beautiful work!
Note that it comes with a well padded gigbag napped inside for the guitar does not catch a cold!

UTILIZATION

The handle is fantastic ..... I played before on Ibanez and I do not see better! I tested the Musicman JP100 and I was amazed by its comfort! Have not yet the means (or the patience) to buy one, I folded the Sterling model with echoes of the press were very good. I'm not disappointed, can not see a difference with the Musicman! The ergonomics are perfect and the guitar can play all styles!
Personally, I play metal and big sound easy to get .... Dimarzio thank you! The Crunchlab is really sharp! The LiquiFire is very round and mix the 2 in the clear liquid is ....! A try with a good chorus!
Beware Crunchlab Larsen .... it very quickly if you do not play! Also, remember to mute the volume knob .... your neighbors will thank you!

SOUNDS

It suits my style! Everything is great with it! A talking, never harmonics whistled example been so easy to remove! Ditto for the game vibrato: it is not only flexible and easy, but added to the mechanical locking Spertzel the guitar does not go out of tune ....
I play on a small Fender Mustang, the sound is very clean. I have not finished because I love it does not fully exploits on this amp!

OVERALL OPINION

I only use it for 2 months, this is my finest purchase "musicos" to this day!
I have not tried other model because the original Musicman had fooled me! Honestly, I can not tell you what the difference is between the British and the original .... except that the handle is called Sterling by Musicman!
Ah yes, we must not be allergic to Dream Theater since the JP model clearly it was designed in partnership with guitarist John Petrucci of Dream says ... The signature appears on the headstock and JP logo on the 1st box handle.
Another important detail, JP was available in 2 models: JP100 and JP100D ..... the difference? D means Dimarzio pickups! Significant detail is not it!
A slight downside: the 3-position selector positioned too close to my right hand! It's not much but I had to be careful with that. Now I'm done.
To conclude, I would say that I do not yet utilizes the full potential of this guitar. I save to make me a Fractal FX. I'm sure the day I brancherais above I'll still be amazed (yes, I use that term a lot but my thesaurus is on vacation ....)!
I would feed this review later depending on the evolution of my equipment.
