[NAMM] Ploytec updates its PI L Squared synth

Ploytec introduces at Summer NAMM 2014 a new version of its Pi L squared (πλ²) synth firmware.

In version PL02.56, the πλ² firmware includes a new formant filter called Vocal Tract, inspired by the General Instruments SP0256-AL2 chip manufactured in the 1980s, that can be played as an instrument.

Two performance modes are available: you can play the “allophones” (vocal elements) on the keyboard and control the notes via the modulation wheel, or use the mod wheel to choose the allophones and play the notes on the keyboard.

Last, the PL02-56 firmware allows for choosing between original or alphabetical orders and you can access the 64 allophones via a Launchpad Mini-type MIDI keyboard.

Note that the MIDI cable previously attached to the little box has been removed (see picture below).
