DigiTech Bass Whammy (Original)

Effects available:
- Harmonizer, which contains specific presets for bass (1 oct/-1oct, -1oct/-4th,-4th / 3 rd,-4th / 5 th, 5 th / 6 th, 5 th / Oct. 1) and that 'found only on this one. The pedal allows realtime Contol note harmonized. When the heel position, the note played is harmonized with that of the first preset value, when in position advanced, the note played is harmonized with that of the second preset value.
- Whammy (pitch shifter) that achieves the following notes (and their intermediaries) with respect to the note played: October 1, 2 nd, 2nd-, 4th-,-1oct. Contol pedal allows real-time the height of the note. When the heel position, the pitch is not changed, when in peak position, the pitch is changed to maximum (depending on the preset selected)
- Detune (equivalent of a chorus). Contol pedal allows realtime rate / depth of the chorus. When the heel position, the rate / depth of the chorus is at least, when it is in advanced position, the rate / depth of the chorus is at maximum.
It's digital.
The effects are editable in the sense that they are controlled by the pedal in real time, but you can not change the pitch of notes and minutes max and then save them to sound banks.
Connector: 1 input with level 1, with an output end, an output of no effect.
Not because it is a pedal rack. Let Pedalboard.
The foot is blue and has two switches: one bypass / start effect, another to scroll through the presets.

UTILIZATION

Configuration is very simple: you plug in the rigor we adjust the input, and plays.
No editing sounds in the sense that one can not change the pitch of notes min and max, or the depth / speed of the chorus, and then save them to sound banks (unless I have missed something). As against it is very easy to use, especially with the two switches. An LED lets you know on what preset you are working.
No need for manual use of the pedal, just to trust his ears!
EDIT: The "toggle" is used to select an effect when pressed more than one second and then to register a second to switch between the two with a single tap of the foot.

SOUND QUALITY

The effect Harmonizer sounds good, but be aware that this pedal was designed and produced in the 90's so the sound quality is related to modeling and components used at that time (not so long ago anyway). We can surely do better now since it is digital and the technology has evolved since then.
The Whammy is excellent and inimitable! (Cf. TM Stevens, Justin Chancellor of Tool etc..)
The Detune effect is a chorus, it's always nice to have it under foot.
I use it with my bass. At the 4 strings do not worry, all the notes go on all the presets to low E, albeit with varying degrees of success at tracking and latency because you have to play clean with clean attack. Nothing embarrassing, and after you get used to this motion.
After the sound is a matter of taste.

OVERALL OPINION

I have not long since ...
What does best this pedal is the Whammy (pitch shifter in real time).
We reached the limits of this pedal with polyphony (Thurs agree): it can not manage it well, but it is common to all the Whammy.
Everything is digital, the bypass as well. Eventually plan to put in a loop for a "true bypass". For me it does not bother me too much now.
I had not tried this before.
Quality / price ratio: it is so rare is expensive, only available on the second hand market, but I see no equivalent dedicated low.
Digitech has no plans to reissue yet. If I separate myself from my own, I hope to be able to find one!
