AudioThing has released Bowed Harp, an aptly-named sound library for Kontakt 5.5.1.

Bowed Harp features samples from an autoharp played with a pick and an EBow. In case you’d wonder, the autoharp is a string instrument rather similar to a zither, and the EBow is a battery-powered electronic device for playing string instruments (like an electric guitar) while producing a sound reminiscent of that produced by Jimmy Page using a bow on the strings. Bowed Harp lets you mix these two sources to create unique plucked and pad sounds. Both sources also feature a selection of 12 impulse responses (4 reverbs, 4 cabinets, 4 effects) to further mangle the sounds.

Specifications include:

  • 14 Kontakt Instruments (.nki)
  • 5 Round Robin samples
  • 3 Velocity layers
  • 160 Samples (44.1kHz/24Bit)
  • Formats: Kontakt and WAV

Bowed Harp weighs in at 467MB and the Kontakt version requires v5.5.1. It is available at the introductory price of €15 (full price will be €19).

More details and sound demos are available from AudioThing’s website.
