User Reviews

Versatile and amazing sounding pedal.

By guiltypassportradio, 06/05/2019
I have been a loyal user to this pedal since 2011, and i've been using it since then.
When i first tried, i did with the gear that was available in the store and it sounded good. Then i got home, tested with my gear, which were a Ampeg VT60 and a Fender Deville 212, with a Gibgon SG faded, and i was amused by the sound of it.
It has this powerful sound, with a lot of presence and can go from sutile overdrive, to a huge distortion.
Having a 3 knobs EQ is an advantage, that makes it versatile; Sweet spots are easier to find.
In a Span of 8 years, i think i have swapped the tube like 3 times, or 4 tops. The best one that has worked for me is the Tung-Sol.
This month, i tried to replace it with the Ibanez Tubeking TK999HT, which is not the direct clone of the one behringer was based on (Ibanez Tubeking TK999), and i thought it would be pretty close it, but no, they are completely different sounding.
TK999HT sounds too marshall, which is not bad, but not my cup of tea. Probably the TK999OD would sound more than the VT999. So, the VT999 will go back to the pedalboard and i will sell the TK999HT.

I have used this pedal with plenty of guitars, such as: Gibson SG faded, Epiphone DOT, Ibanez Artcore hollowbody, Fender Telecasters and Strats, Ibanez Jetking, Fender duo sonic, even with a jazz bass, and with every instrument, it sounds just fantastic.

- Pretty darn versatile. You can dial plenty of tones with it (3 EQ knobs!). From a light overdrive almost clean, to a punchy rock distortion.
- Noise gate is good to clean a little bit of noise. Also, the pedal itself is not noisy.

- Big Housing. It is just too big! If you open it, you will see that i could have been way smaller.
- Swapping the tube. Although is not as hard as replacing the tube like in the Ibanez TK999HT/OD, sometimes the pedal won't "detect" the tube placed in. It can be a pain.

A reissue of this one in a smaller housing would be just great!

of very heavy for cheap, why not have thought tot +!

this is OVER DRIVE lamp, large (3 times a pedal)
2 jack and a 9 v transformer supplied with

configuration limit child
1-sheet manual
only the noise gate is a bit subtle set

efficiency, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees, I use it to warm groovebox output sound, and what results, equalizer with adjustable gain bein floor, we soon comppte BUGERA the lamp works and gives depth and amplified form inimitable face sounds cold DSP.

ouff thing when you know it's a lamp like 17 euros piece!
Me, I'm not a big fan of the brand for its pedals, I have a DELAY who held 2 years, which SYNTH fucked after 3 short, I hope that it will last more

2 weeks of use, nickel
behringer would do that all the effects in this state of mind because the basic pedals to 25 euros plastoc, ca viellit way there, for 15 euros more, there's the correct sound of metal that takes the scene ca is large for all finger sizes, and LED continues to 1000 W
on the other hand, the noise gate has a small button, boring

good, must be careful, we are told that it's been too distorted, you really push the gain to death and push MId HIGHpour and have an early distortion distortion that resembles a poorly adjusted, put money in a real distortion if the goal

I've put behind a AKAI deluxe distortion

Go for it!

One month I have is analog of course, but also heated tube little or not on the distortion is generated by the lamp. Tunable and switchable noise gate. Silent switch and walk every time so it's probably not a true bypass ...
A blue LED pedal power (illuminates the entire room) and a red disto engaged well seen.
The supplied power supply is tiny and takes up no space, cool. No residual noise, it's clean.
You've seen the price?!

Very simple and not too flexible, but we know where we are.
The gate is great, essential (and I weigh my words) with my lp 60s tribute p90.
It does not cut abruptly, you just adjust the treble a bit, it's a great job very happy.
The equalizer works very well, and made optimal frequencies always natural, grain base is all the time.

Gain very progressive, starting at noon at ease both in the grain dynamics.

Unchanged tube or anything, it sounds nice as it is so ...

The sound: a bit dark, thin to the base and beaded in the coating, it's subtle and effective at a time. The HD300 brand sounds almost like the base, except for the pearl of the envelope, so I think that the tube does not produce color distortion but "only" son.En fact, sounds more vt pretty-harmonic-catchy.

With faded gibson les paul (humbucker alnico5, bursbucker pro) is to gain one to two hours for a well suited as hairy as rhythmic solo. With the tribute in p90 gain is way down to the same effect.
The guitars not sound the same, but the identity of the pedal is very sharp, always on that side a bit dark and nasty but catchy class.

It's vintage, yaka connect the xd 300 of the mark to realize, much more present and puncheuse / very aggressive.
Besides, do not be fooled, for the metal is not mind-blowing vt you need but the XD300, in direct comparison it's weird when one returns to the VT999: it seems that it lacks everything! Si si!
In short you need to know what one seeks, komdab ...

I would do this election is more than clear. I had the tone king ibanez tube 999 to the last century (..., hard!) And Bébert sounds much better for six times cheaper!

I will still test the beast with ten tubes that hang in my box of surprises, we never change ... Update if warranted, of course!

Of good fat for cheap

tube distortion pedal, gain, volume, bass, mid, treble, built-in noise gate. We can not be simpler.

As previously stated, this is a distortion pedal to light, and can not be simpler. Is connected after waiting for the lamp heater, turn the knobs and play. true bypass it seems to me, anyway off perfectly transparent.
The settings of the tones are very effective, you can really sculpt a sound with.
The noise gate (after I return above) is the easiest I've had: on or off (ca change ...). And plus it works ...
Access to the lamp is not hard, 3 minutes, a screwdriver, and presto.
One downside, this page .... of blue LED is not a diode, a lighthouse, a projector anti air ... So a once lit, one is dazzled and can not see its settings. Led to tape or to change very quickly. 8 / 10 just for that ...

Ben the cow is a sacred pedal ... Especially if you're having fun ay to the lamp that suits his game and his sound. Delivered basic for me with a lamp bugera, so not that bad, the entry sorted, better than the first price in GT.
We change the lamp and presto, you change the pedal ... as the advice above, with an ECC83, less gain, but a bit tight and precise, surprising for a pedal at this price, I love, but I've (Blackstar). So I stopped on a JJ 12AX7's and my pedal to the big bold with coarse grain of happiness. Everything passes, good big blues, old families hard, punk, garage, and even large modern sound, I found myself doing with rammstein ... the bass is awesome and the tone controls very effective. happiness.

attention, the pedal can not be used to boost a clean channel, crunch it too quickly. Cons on a channel by saturated .... hmmmmm ....

icing on the cake, the noise gate: it's the magic bin, on or off, if it is, the noise gate works even if the pedal is not engaged. Noise gate completely transparent and calibrated. Even with my LP in which p90 is very noisy, nothing to say, no hum, just the game, not to break his c. .., sustain and resonance respected, too cool ... So this became my pedal noise gate official, I do spend more, especially with the lp.

Used for 6 months.
I had a lot of distortion pedals and overdrive in the legs, od 1 and 2, TS09 (the true), hm boss, electro harmonix, Blackstar, shred master procorat, multi purpose and modeling.
60 to 70 € (or less used) this pedal up to the best. Ultra-flexible, beautiful and big sound, equalizer very effectively, with a noise gate of dreams and a personality that depends on the lamp that you put. too cool.
The -: I of this ...... its blue LED ... pffff ....
Enormous value for money, it would be crazy to spend more .... or do without ...
