Tube Screamer Overdrive analog typed (so kind amp pushed a little strong lamp) with instead of a tone knob, a separate equalizer severe acute ... this is the strong point of the pedal, and realize that the particular so interesting for a bassist.

UTILIZATION

Relatively simple operation, the saturation level is adjusted with the "gain", the output level with the "volume", and then this is where the trick is adjusted EQ sound by adding or removing independently of bass or treble ...

SOUND QUALITY

Used on a bass, it's great.
The tube screamer type pedals enchant millions of guitarists, but for bassists, must recognize that despite hacks, upgrades, the mixture with light and other tricks, it's still a major problem (?): A tube screamer, it cuts the bass by boosting the mids, even with the tone at zero. It is designed for bass.

From here the scene separated severe acute EQ. It may, on the Bad Monkey, serious boost to regain lost these serious by the circuit while adjusting the treble (a little more or a little less) to keep still a bit of presence. In short, we have a little bass sound crunchy, chewy, which clearly recalls the effect of a head lamp that saturates the effect of a short tube screamer, but with severe natural, not excessive, just remetrte this was missing and disappear overdrivée low in the mix.

OVERALL OPINION

I'm a fan of the bass tube screamer, I think this is the type of circuit that has made the most natural, not excessive or caricature to give small boost to the bass sound in rock context.
But because of the default mentioned above, not easy to find a good TS for low, or it is expensive (boutique pedals, overdrives Bass: niche market, it is expensive).

Until I met this Bad Monkey. Cheap, it sounds to death ... a secret weapon!
Try for all bassists who like his growling!
